Cardinal Buick GMC in Belleville, Illinois operates with a disturbing lack of integrity. I inquired about a vehicle with an MSRP of $58,155. Both the Cardinal Buick GMC website and the official GMC website— a disturbing lack of integrity. I inquired about a vehicle with an MSRP of $58,155. Both the Cardinal Buick GMC website and the official GMC website—which pulls its information directly from the dealer—boldly advertised a $6,397 discount, showing a final “cash price” of $51,758. However, only after multiple discussions did it finally become clear that this price was not truly available to all customers. Prior to that, the dealership had several opportunities to fully disclose that the advertised discount came with restrictions—but they chose not to. In other words, the $6,397 discount they proudly advertised on both their website and GMC’s website simply vanished once the details were pressed. This is a textbook example of bait-and-switch advertising. When I raised the issue, Ed, one of the general sales managers, attempted to justify the practice by citing “Illinois advertising laws and regulations.” However, no law requires a business to misrepresent pricing. This explanation came across as nothing more than an excuse rather than accountability for misleading consumers. Equally troubling is Cardinal Buick GMC’s unwillingness to conduct business with transparency. Straightforward questions were met with evasive answers, and the overall approach felt designed to confuse rather than clarify. What is especially disappointing is their lack of support for military personnel and veterans. In contrast to most reputable dealerships that proudly extend appreciation to those who serve, this business demonstrates no such commitment. Consumers deserve honesty, transparency, and respect—none of which are present at Cardinal Buick GMC. I would strongly caution anyone considering a purchase to look elsewhere for a dealership that values its customers and upholds ethical business practices. More

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding a discriminatory experience I encountered during the attempted purchase of a 2021 Hyundai Elantra SE from Cardinal Buick. On and concern regarding a discriminatory experience I encountered during the attempted purchase of a 2021 Hyundai Elantra SE from Cardinal Buick. On the morning of April 22nd, I contacted the dealership to confirm that the vehicle was still available and was informed that it was. I then began working with a representative named Brandon, to whom I submitted a finance application to verify my pre-approval with my bank. At 12:02 PM, I received a consent form outlining the agreed-upon terms: $500 down and $397 per month. I signed and returned the form at 12:12 PM. By 2:22 PM, I was informed that all necessary documents were complete and the next step was for me to visit the dealership to finalize the purchase. I confirmed I would arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 PM, but due to a last-minute Uber cancellation, I arrived at approximately 6:46 PM, after spending $62 on transportation. While en route, I received a phone call asking me to verbally confirm that I was still coming to complete the purchase, which I did. Upon my arrival, I was informed that the vehicle had been sold to another customer—a white family—who had arrived just 10 minutes before me. I was not contacted or given any indication that the vehicle might be sold to another party, despite having completed all required paperwork and even purchasing insurance for the vehicle in anticipation of taking it home that evening. This experience was not only extremely frustrating and embarrassing—especially as it occurred on my birthday—but it also raised serious concerns about the fairness and integrity of the transaction. I felt disregarded and discriminated against, and I am seeking a formal response and resolution to this matter. More
Called in to verify that they still had the vehicle I was interested in and made an appointment to see the vehicle since I lived 1.5 hours away. They said they did and it would be set aside for me and when I interested in and made an appointment to see the vehicle since I lived 1.5 hours away. They said they did and it would be set aside for me and when I arrived it was being test driven and then sold before I had a chance to purchase it. Total of 3 hours driving waisted as their word in no good! Looking at the reviews of this dealership I see this was a blessing in disguise. Wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. More
Avoid This Dealership – Learn from My Costly Experience! I took my 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 to this dealership on December 28 due to the well-known transmission issue affecting this model year. On January 3, I I took my 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 to this dealership on December 28 due to the well-known transmission issue affecting this model year. On January 3, I was informed that they had just ordered the transmission. Three weeks later, they told me it could take up to three months for a replacement. As of now, my truck is still sitting at the dealership with no estimated fix date. Then things got even worse. I received a call—not from the dealership, but from the Belleville police— informing me that my truck had been left on cinder blocks and my 22” wheels had been stolen while it was parked at the dealership. When I called the dealership to ask why the police notified me before they did, they had no clear answer. When I asked how they planned to resolve the theft, their response? "File a claim with your insurance." This dealership failed its duty of care and now wants to avoid responsibility. I guess they forgot about their garage keepers insurance. 🚨 DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP! 🚨 If you value your vehicle and your wallet, take your business elsewhere. Their poor management is costing customers time and money. GMC Corporate, Regional Management, and the Better Business Bureau have all been notified. More
