I had appointments scheduled on back to back days, one for picking up the truck for a 24 hour test drive, and one for the return. I was made to wait for both appointments for more than 50 minutes because for picking up the truck for a 24 hour test drive, and one for the return. I was made to wait for both appointments for more than 50 minutes because "associates were at lunch". My test drive appointment was scheduled for 2:30pm. 55 minutes later the truck finally appeared, but after making my desire for a 24 test drive clear when I called to schedule, the associate said "see you in about 20 minutes" when handing me the keys. Total time to pick up a scheduled test drive was two hours and twenty five minutes. I swallowed it the first day, but when I approached the counter after waiting 45 minutes for the second I got unwarranted snark in return which wasn't appreciated. I was pretty fed up and explained "appointments" don't mean I'm helped when an associate returns from lunch. Appointments mean associates are available to meet at the scheduled time, otherwise they're not appointments, but walk-ins. It ultimately took an hour and forty minutes from the time I informed someone at the desk that I wanted to buy the truck (personal check, no financing) before I was driving away. So yeah, over four hours of mostly sitting on my thumb for a deal that required no financing. If that's the goal, you're doing great. Aside from the people, the experience was mostly great. I pointed out the rear bumper was twisted and with no hesitation was told it would be fixed. When I returned to drop it off for the repair I was given a loaner, which was unexpected but appreciated. That is, until I opened the door and was hit with the smell of an ashtray that hadn't been emptied for years, even though the car had no ash tray. I immediately understood why it was a loaner because no one is buying that thing. When the repair was complete five days later, swapping the ashtray for my truck took just a few moments and I was on my way. At the end of the day, I'd use Carmax again because I was impressed with the policies and processes, but I wouldn't recommend you to anyone without also letting them my overall customer experience was a solid 3 out of 10. Even doctors offices have signs that if you've been waiting for more than 15 minutes beyond your appointment time to notify the front desk. When I approach after my 2nd wait of more than 50 minutes in two days and get snark, your customer interfacing needs significant attention, not to mention some training in what the word appointment means. I found the car with all the items I wanted in Miami. It was easy and reasonable to have it transferred to this location. That is the nice part. With other dealerships you have to go see it or purchase it before you transfer. I almost made a big error doing that. Always see the CAR 1st. CarMax lets you actually do cross country shopping! I did not finance so can't honestly answer that question. Thank you More
Although this car had shown a history of damage to the front left area, I went ahead with the transfer from Delaware. Upon inspection there was no cosmetic damage to be seen. I went ahead with the purchas front left area, I went ahead with the transfer from Delaware. Upon inspection there was no cosmetic damage to be seen. I went ahead with the purchase, which by the way was smooth and professional. However, within 30 days of having the car two problems emerged centering around the front left area of the car. One , the fog light was out; we were able to key that in as a warranty claim which was honored. The other problem was with the tire pressure monitoring system. The tires would not calibrate upon airing up. Inspection revealed that a regular tire valve stem had been installed on the front left wheel. So that the tire pressure warning could function I paid for Allen Toyota to install a new tire sensor, tire sensor valve stem, and then program to TPMS. My charges were $ 320.47. I believe the whatever repairs were done to the car were incomplete; specifically, the replacement tire which did not have the proper valve stem so that the TPMS could function did not meet CarMax standards. Since the price for the car was high I believe that profit margin exists for CarMax to do the right thing and reimburse me for this repair. If necessary, I can easily provide the receipt paperwork on this repair. Please email me with your decision. Thank you, Michael Berl More

Then I found out after my 10 days was up that two of the items that we’re advertised to be on this vehicle or actually not installed. Then there was the title package, they sent it. FedEx did not send me a tracking number, the driver signed for it himself and it stayed out in the mailbox for a week and got wet, so after 18 days, I finally got it registered. More
