While somewhat understandable I decided to cancel my order. While the funds took 4 days to be withdrawn from my bank account (2 non-business days included) the return of the funds, the return was started the day after the initial signing, is likely to take over 3 weeks (10-15 business days is their quote). Whether they are holding the funds in escrow for a certain amount of time to accumulate a small amount of interest to fatten their pockets or have negotiated with their banking partners to extend this time frame in hopes someone would utilize the funds to purchase in alternate vehicle it is absolutely ludicrous that they hold peoples money hostage for that length of time. I would buy a bus pass and walk miles for my transportation needs before interacting with them again after this xx. More

Carvana has failed to provide New Jersey State Registration and Tags as indicated in the contract prior to the temporary registration and tags expiring. This is a breach of contract and a violation of DMV law, though no one there seems to care. They had me sign 3 different papers because they told me it was the wrong paperwork for my State. They have repeatedly for over 2 and a half months told me it was now fixed and submitted. They told me repeatedly for over 2 and a half months that they would be able to extend the temporary tags and registration. I was then told several days before the registration and tags expired that they misinformed me. I have spoken with over 20 different employees on over 20 phone calls. I have been told that the registration is now submitted to the NJ DMV however they are also telling me there is no way to have proof of confirmation sent to me. I asked for an electronic submission confirmation or certified mail tracking number and they pretend to be confused and tell me they aren't able to speak to anyone in the Registration Department. They sent me "confirmation" of my registration submission which was nothing more than a screenshot of an IM chat that did not include my name, vehicle, or VIN number. The date on the screenshot appears to be altered as it is a different color, size, and font. They keep telling me I am wrong and that there wouldn't be a tracking number or confirmation that the registration was actually submitted this time. They offered me $515.00 for transportation costs for a possible 19 day at least gap in registration and tags. As I explained to them I am a federal employee who is working without pay and that amount is not enough for possibly 19 or more days without my vehicle. I have asked to speak to supervisors but they have told me the Executive Resolution team is the highest level and no one is the supervisor nor do they have a supervisor nor do they have to ability to contact anyone in registration other than submitting a ticket. It is nothing but runaround and telling me they will have someone call me back. More
My experience with Carvana has been nothing short of a nightmare. • First vehicle: I purchased a car with only 4,000 miles, and on the day of delivery I was told the engine had a knocking sound and asked nightmare. • First vehicle: I purchased a car with only 4,000 miles, and on the day of delivery I was told the engine had a knocking sound and asked if I still wanted it. Absolutely not! • Second vehicle: I purchased another car more than a week in advance and even paid shipping fees. The day before delivery, I was informed it had been sold to someone else! I was then told I wouldn’t receive my refund for 7–10 business days—and not until after I purchased yet another vehicle and completed the 7-day trial period. Completely unacceptable. • Third vehicle: I finally tried again, only to be told on the delivery day that it had to be rescheduled a week later because they were short-staffed. I had to drive to pick up the vehicle myself. When I got there, it had far more imperfections than advertised, and there was no paperwork ready for me at all. Had the vehicle inspected for MY PEACE OF MIND and a tire needed to be replaced at MY COST while I am still under the 7 day warranty through Carvana. Multiple nails found in the inner rim area! Carvana is the ABSOLUTE WORST! I highly advise anyone to STAY AWAY! Every step of the process was disorganized, misleading, and frustrating. Communication was poor, accountability was nonexistent, and customer service was unhelpful. After three failed experiences, I can confidently say I will never use Carvana again and strongly advise others to stay away. More
Carvana sells vehicles that are not road worthy, or are in need of significant repairs. Beware. Their warranty claim process is disjointed and slow, and insurance company non-responsive. Even in-network it in need of significant repairs. Beware. Their warranty claim process is disjointed and slow, and insurance company non-responsive. Even in-network it is nearly impossible to get repairs made in a timely and convenient manner. While the convenience of the sales process is nice, it nowhere near makes up for the lost time, money, and likely safety concerns of owning one of their vehicles. Good at selling, poor at delivering anything other than a broken vehicle More
I had a very unprofessional and infuriating experience with Carvana. I sold my car to them because I needed to sell it quickly before my lease ended. I couldn’t have any delays because I was about to leav with Carvana. I sold my car to them because I needed to sell it quickly before my lease ended. I couldn’t have any delays because I was about to leave the state. Since this was my first car, both my dad and I were on the title. According to Carvana’s policy, this meant he would have to be there for the appointment when I sold the car. My father lives across the country, so it would be a major inconvenience and a serious cost to fly him out to be at one meeting. I called Carvana multiple times asking if there was any way we could avoid him having to be there in person. I suggested that he could be on a notarized zoom, or at a Carvana location closer to where he lived. I basically begged them for any other option other than him having to be there in person. I was told multiple times that there was no way around this, he absolutely had to be there. Fine, so my dad flew out and we went to the appointment to sell the car. I couldn’t take a chance and try to go without him because I was leaving 2 days after the appointment. When we got to the appointment, it was very clear that he did not need to be there at all. I was asked for my ID so the iPad could scan it, and he got his out too, but the employee working with us said ‘Oh it actually isn’t asking to scan your ID.” I find this totally unacceptable. The iPad is literally programmed to walk employees through the steps of buying a car. I do not believe that Carvana would not know that according to their iPad, my dad did not have to be there. If you’re going to make it a policy, fine, I understand there is liability involved, but don’t lie about what will actually happen at an appointment. According to your iPad, he never needed to be there at all, so how much is this ‘policy’ actually preventing sketchy car sales? It seems like not at all. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and the absolute nonsense of it all. If my dad didn’t actually have to be there at all, I truly do NOT understand why any of the suggested alternatives were not possible, especially when they would have saved my dad and I a ton of time, stress, and money. I will not be using Carvana again. More

I have negative equity with them after having the car 7 months after putting $9000 down. Customer service was horrible and they don’t care. They got your money the first time and that’s all that matters to them. I feel like I’ve been robbed. I will never recommend this company to anyone. More

He informed me the car was in excellent condition EXCEPT that it had been infested by rodents. He discovered this when he removed the cabin air filter -- apparently that's not on Carvana's billion point inspection??? -- and a cache of nut shells and rodent feces fell out. Rodents carry hantavirus, among other things; I'd just spent an hour with the A/C on, blowing in my face, on a warm June day...as I drove the car to the mechanic. I was enraged, disgusted, afraid. (If you google "hantavirus", it says "some people live". There is no treatment for hantavirus.) Mechanic also reported a variety of problems with electronic components -- evidence that rodents had chewed on the wires. (Apparently some auto makers began using soy-based coatings on wiring in the 2010's, and Honda Fit is more prone than average to damage like this. Crappy way for me to find that out.) I called Carvana same day to tell them about the problem as I contemplated whether to attempt repair (under warranty) or simply return the car. One significant consideration is that I need a vehicle, and I'd traded in my car to them. They told me before I left the lot that day that if I returned the 2019 Fit, my trade-in would be gone. After consulting wise associates, I called them to request that they either (a) return my trade-in, (b) give me a loaner until I could buy another vehicle (NOT from them!!!), or (c) give me $$ to pay for a rental vehicle. They refused; supervisor refused, 3rd level up refused. At that point I asked them to put their refusal in writing and told them that I was going to go to the State Attorney General, the BBB, and post reviews everywhere I could find. At that point 3rd Level put me on hold and...voila! Turns out my trade-in was still sitting on their lot. They returned my trade-in to me when they came to my home to pick up their disgusting vehicle. Challenges continued while I tried to obtain the title to my trade-in. I spent another couple hours on the phone while they tried to figure that out. Blah blah blah. HUGE waste of my time. I will NEVER do business with Carvana again and would advise the same to everyone. (I also had problems with CarMax, but they at least allow you to have the vehicle inspected before you purchase.) Bought a car from them, first couple of months everything was great. shortly after their 100 day warranty the car started having electrical issues with the window, needed to replace all 4 tires and now the transmission went completely out. I haven’t had the car even for 6 months. reached out to Carvana and was told since the warranty is out they can’t help me. The transmission is a $5k+ repair and the car isn’t drive able. they won’t take the car as a trade in so I can get another car because it doesn’t drive….I’m gonna have to voluntarily repo this car and take the hit on my credit because they sold me a car with a transmission going out. customer service only apologized and offered me no help or solutions beyond trying to trade it in…even though they know it needs to be drivable to be traded. super lame. they screwed me.
