Horrible Experience Let me start off by saying that I will never do business with Desert Sun again. My girlfriend works at Vision Ford here in town and she has a good friend who sells at Desert Sun. She knew that I wanted a Chevrolet truck, so she put her trust into this dealership. Well, I purchased a 2007 Chevrolet 1500. NOT EVEN 20 days later my transmission goes out. Yes, I knew that I would have future issues with buying an older vehicle, but not once did I think it would be 20 days later it went through a clean Used Car Inspection. Well, I take it in and they basically tell me that they are not helping me out with one penny. Meaning, I had to pay over $3000 in order to drive this truck. Freddie, Jim nor Steve would help us out. Mind you, I am Military and gave Desert Sun my full trust. I put down $1000, and had over a grand of equity in my trade in. My truck has now been sitting in the shop for two weeks. Steve Irick still has not returned my voicemail nor phone calls. After they informed us of that, I decided to take it home. On the way home from the service department, it begins to smoke heavily. I took it over to Vision Ford to look at. When Desert Sun put the oil pan back on, they did it carelessly, which resulted in pinching the gasket, creating a leak and black smoke. So, they created an issue on top of another issue- which they also refused to fix. Vision Ford ordered me a BRAND NEW transmission with ZERO miles, completed all the work for under $3000. They saved me $940 and I did not even purchase the truck from them. Needless to say, Desert Sun does not care about their US Military, nor fulfilling their customer satisifcation needs. All they cared about, was their money. Do not go there! Thanks for reading!!! More

2011 and 2012 Malibu We purchased a 2011 Malibu new from Desert Sun Alamogordo in June of 2011. Our first new car purchase in 23 years. The dealership worked hard to get us a deal we both felt comfortable with. In December 2011 (6 mos. and 3050 miles later) our Malibu met with disaster at the hands of a distracted young driver resulting in a total loss. We liked the car and had unfortunately experienced all of the safety equipment first hand, so contacted Donnell Sampson and in January 2012 drove home a new 2012 Malibu. Donnell and the Business Manager did their best to get us a fine deal and back on the road again, as quickly as possible. I've had both Malibu's serviced at the dealership with no problems whatsoever. The 2012 Malibu is equipped with nitrogen filled tires and when they need filling, the service department gets it done very quickly and at no cost to the customer. By the way, after each service of our Malibu, we are always given a car wash certificate. That's the type of dealership that earns customer returns and respect. All-in-all, I would be the first to recommend Desert Sun Alamogordo both for sales and service to anyone looking to purchase a GM or Toyota vehicle. More

I was excited to purchase a new vehicle, but was dreading the whole car dealership experience. We contacted Colin (internet sales manager) at Desert Sun Alamogordo and he has been so great to us. Not only did we get the vehicle we had wanted but he was also able to provide us with a wealth of information regarding our vehicle. He kept in contact with us throughout the entire time. It was great to see he had as much enthusiasm about our vehicle as we did. This has been the best auto experience we have had and plan to contact Colin when we are ready for our next purchase. Great job to Colin and for Desert Sun to making our experience a pleasant one. More

Purchased car for Granddaughters I looked at a car for myself last year and Ken was the one that I talked to. He made me a very good deal on a new car. I decided that I shouldn't buy a car at that time, and I really liked the way Ken treated me when I told him of my decision. He was very nice and understood and did not harass me to try to talk me into buying the car. So, when I decided to buy a car for my grandchildren I went back to Ken because of the way he had treated me before. Again, he was very nice and explained everything about the Spark, because I didn't know anything about Sparks. He made me a very good deal and this time I did purchase the car.
