Very professional and personable. I was interested in a particular Chevy Equinox which was not on the lot. Jeff Tuckman went above and beyond to locate one from other dealers. Jeff cal I was interested in a particular Chevy Equinox which was not on the lot. Jeff Tuckman went above and beyond to locate one from other dealers. Jeff called about 9 dealers to locate one and finally found one in Michigan. He offered to trade a vehicle from his dealership and have the vehicle driven to Castle even though I did not commit to purchase. In the end I decided to purchase a vehicle with more options that Castle had right on there lot. Throughout the process Jeff kept me informed and was extremely personable. Everyone at the dealership were very nice and respectful. I was very impressed with the whole staff. I would recommend Castle Chevy to everyone and I will continue to purchase cars from this dealer. Prenegotiated waste of time The experience started out great, reaching out online about a vehicle to purchase. I provided details on my trade in, condition, VIN etc. I explaine The experience started out great, reaching out online about a vehicle to purchase. I provided details on my trade in, condition, VIN etc. I explained what I was looking to get for my vehicle, as well as what I would be willing to spend on top of that for the vehicle I was looking at. I live 4 hours from the dealer, so negotiations were made prior to me making the trip, as I didn’t want to make the trip if the deal wasn’t going to happen. Here is when the experience went terribly wrong. I walked in, and the person who advised would be there apparently works off site at a localized call center. I was given a sales rep that knew nothing about the vehicle, and had only started working there a month prior. I had asked multiple basic questions about the vehicle that I already knew the answer to in order to see how much was known about this vehicle, and the sales rep could not provide me answers. Keep in mind o provided the date and time that I would be showing up to look at this car, so there was plenty of time to pull details and clean it up prior to my arrival. The vehicle showed up snow covered, not warmed up. The test drive went well, the vehicle drove properly. When I got back, the sales rep came to the table with the typical “pitch”, with a piece of paper illustrating a trade-in value thousands below market value, and thousands below what was discussed prior to my making the trip. Of course the next step was the sales Manager coming over to “explain” the numbers. Unfortunately the sales Manager did not have the proper options selected, nor the condition, which I called out. We went through the KBB together at the desk, and the amount originally discussed prior to the trip was less than $200 over the range of the trade-in. It was stated during the communication that there may be a few hundred dollar variation once I arrive, which I was willing to spend. The sales Manager stated there was no way they could pay the KBB trade-in value, even though there were multiple vehicles, either like mine, or similar with less options for $3000 higher than what I was looking to get for my trade-in within 15 miles of this dealership, so stating it was not possible is clearly false, as there was money to be made. The negotiations and fact checking of the sales Manager went back and forth, to the point where I had to walk out the door. I drove 4 hours to see a vehicle I was going to purchase that day, with cash to pay the difference that was nearly solidified prior to my making the trip, and the dealership choked. They had all of the correspondence, clear as day, and they advised that the internet representative made a mistake and shouldn’t have said what was said. Inexcusable, poor business. The sales Manager, as I was walking out the door, asked if he could call the GM or CFO to try to help. 10 minutes later, he comes back, still well over $1500 above what was originally negotiated. It ended with walking out the door, extremely disappointed, as if they knew they wouldn’t be able to make the deal, it would have been better to explain that, rather than someone driving 400 miles, 8 hours round trip, to completely waste a day. More
