My experience started with Central/FCA not covering broken exhaust manifold bolts while the truck was still under the original factory warranty. The manifold bolts are a known issue on this generation broken exhaust manifold bolts while the truck was still under the original factory warranty. The manifold bolts are a known issue on this generation truck but they blamed it on “corrosion” which isn’t covered. I dealt with Chrysler directly who was willing to pay half of the quoted $1200.00 repair (it was actually a little under $1200.00). I dropped my truck off at 7:30am on Wednesday the 22nd. The service rep said they may have the truck until Friday, which I wasn’t happy about but I had no choice. (The truck is a company work vehicle which i rely on daily for my business). I was notified the truck would be ready to pick up Saturday evening. When I picked up the truck the bill was for $1586.68, basically $400 higher than quoted cost. Chrysler refuses to pay the additional or at least split the additional $400 with me. After going over the bill I realized they double billed me for parts and charged me for parts to replace 4 manifold studs not the 3 they replaced. It also appears I was billed for 9 hours of labor yet they had my truck for 4 days, which means they averaged 2.25 hours a day on my truck. I get big deal ships don’t care about a small business owner like myself, but not having my work truck costs me around $2000.00 a day. So long story short is my factory bumper to bumper warranty is B.S., I paid $400 more than quoted, and lost my truck for 4 days over basically 1 days labor on the vehicle. I will not be returning to Central for any future service or purchases. Experiences like this make me question selling my 2016 Ram 1500 and 2017 Ram Pro Master, which sucks because I like both vehicles. In the least I will be choosing one of the other local dealerships for Future service & sales. More
