Century West BMW, DO NOT TRUST THEM, PLS READ!!!!!!!! I purchased a pre-owned 2013 X6 with 43kmiles @ Century West a few weeks ago. Century West salesman discussed for many days how great condition the car was in, both inside and out, top to bottom. I wired them the money and they shipped the car to me b/c I live out of state. I trusted them fully on their statements of condition of the car, in fact my purchase was fully based on that alone. Finally delivery date, when the auto transport company driver backed the X6 off the truck at delivery the cooling fan was racing on and off, noticeably and very loudly, on and off. I have video of it. I thought it was weird right away. I drove the car to fill up with gas and the fan was doing the same even while driving, very loudly, i have never heard a fan going on and off while driving. A few miles later the engine temp came on and the car warned me to pull over because of hot engine temp and warned it would overheat. The car has been confirmed by both my local BMW dealership and also by a non dealership mechanic to be throwing water pump fault codes and needs a water pump and thermostat, (as well as battery and front brakes!!). Century West BMW's only solution was that they told me i need to talk to my local dealer to see if local dealer will fix it for me. Hello!?!?! I didnt buy it from local dealer in MA I bought it from you Century West BMW. Century West has shown zero effort and zero interest in paying for the repair or making it right in any way, (but they showed lots of interest in taking my money and accepting the wire transfer.) I have a video of the cooling fan racing/cycling on and off when it came off the truck and a video of the hot engine light/message that came on in the first few miles. They took my $34k pretty quickly yet not willing to take care of an issue and didnt deliver me a road worthy, didnt deliver me an operable car. I was also informed by my local dealer the battery is all but dead and the brakes are well below acceptable dealership tolerance and the key FOB is telling them it needs brakes. So I paid $34k for the car, I was assured was in great condition and within minutes of being off the truck(and in reality while it was coming off the truck) it can't be driven!!!! I have never been a party to a more fraudulent, unjust, deceptive transaction and the service/parts director Joe Deitrick just doesn't seem to care.....specifically service/parts manager Joe Deitrick has shown zero sympathy, and zero customer service skills, and just doesn't return phone calls, and has taken no initiative to make it right in any way shape or form. I gave you $34k you dont even try to solve it? You dont even pretend to have customer service skills? His solution was for me to be cordial(his words exactly) to my local dealership and they would hopefully take care of it for me despite it being out of warranty and despite me not purchasing car there. I would never recommend anyone trust this dealership nor trust Joe Deitrick. Its pretty simple, you cash my check and I simply expect a car that's operable/road worthy and free of fault codes on day 1, thats all pretty simple......Only conclusion here is that Century West BMW is a deceptive, untrustworthy dealership. Imagine if you were me and paid $34k for a car that you were told was in great shape, yet off the truck it had failed water pump and couldn't be driven!?!?. I have never in my whole life written a review of any restaurant, any retailer, any business but I had to speak up as this shouldn't happen to anyone and if you deal with them, be careful!!!!. Take my word, all I asked for is for them to deliver the goods that I was promised and that I paid for....a road worthy operable car. I have a car that needs $1500 for water pump and thermostat, (not mention brakes/rotors and battery for another $1100 and I have yet to drive the car!!). I wish someone would have posted this for me to read before I wired them my hard earned money. They bragged about being a tier 1 dealership. I guess tier 1 stands for tier 1 fraudulent dealership with zero customer service skills and a deceptive employee. More

The staff is friendly; the service advisor (Doug) is very accommodating and helpful. But I am frustrated with the quality of service. My car recently broke down; was towed to the dealer; I was taken care of immediately with repairs done in 2-business days. It was expensive but fixed. Within 12-hours the problem was back and I was again stranded. I had to spend my own money, again, for a tow back to the dealership for repairs. When I go to a BMW dealer for repair I expect it to be fixed right the first time. Also, my husband had a similar experience where he had repairs here; the problem was not fixed and he ended up at Beverly Hills BMW Service who stated the problem was not fixed correctly and when they did the service, they got it right. I don't think I will return to this dealer for service repairs based on the quality of work and reliability of repairs. I plan to try a new dealer to see if my experience improves, especially since I am not covered by a warranty anymore and all repairs are out of pocket for me. Too bad - I like the people. More
Great experience We're on our 5th BMW, and have tried many BMW service centers in our area including Calabasas and Beverly Hills BMW service centers. Century West BMW We're on our 5th BMW, and have tried many BMW service centers in our area including Calabasas and Beverly Hills BMW service centers. Century West BMW service center was by far the best experience; the other two I mentioned here don't even come close with Beverly Hills BMW service center being THE worst experience among all including BMW, Audi, Lexus. The main reason why our experience with Century West BMW has been, and continue to be, so good is because of Steve Smithson. Steve is a car guy, he knows BMW products, and he's focused on our needs! Steve has gone above and beyond to find the right technicians to figure out what a problem is, and solve it. Steve is the face of our Century West experience, and he appears to be very well supported by his management and the technicians; otherwise, our cars would not be maintained by Century West BMW as well as they have been. We have had problems with our BMW's (750i, 535xi, 550i, 335xi), and we nearly left BMW entirely, but the only reason why we bought another BMW is because we knew we have Steve and Century West to support us. The employees seem friendly up front, but their behaviors are driven primarily by profit and making lots of money. There is little to no focus on customer service. are driven primarily by profit and making lots of money. There is little to no focus on customer service. More
I was so excited to take my m3 in for 1200mi service. I sat down with the SA and asked what takes place during the 1200mi? The SA said the engine oil, transmission, and differential, as stated in the manua sat down with the SA and asked what takes place during the 1200mi? The SA said the engine oil, transmission, and differential, as stated in the manual. I also requested for the car not to be washed. 4 hours later as promised, he calls me to let me know that my car is ready for pickup. And just to confirm I asked him if all 3 fluids were changed? He said yes. I go in a few hours later and as I'm looking over the the invoice i notice that only the engine oil was performed. I ask to speak with my SA but he already left for the day so I end up asking his partner (SA2) if all 3 fluids were changed and if so, why it's not stated on the invoice. He calls the technician that worked on my car (who also left for the day) and asks if the tranny and diff fluid was changed. The tech says that only the smg needs to be changed, not the 6speed. So the SA2 asks him "was there a bulletin for this? because the customer is saying that its in the manual." And the tech apparently said yes. I then ask the SA2, so the manual is wrong?! And he says that during a certain production period it changed and I must have gotten an outdated manual. (my car is only a month old and in its 2nd year of production, the manual is not outdated nor wrong) I then politely ask if I can get a copy of this service bulletin. He says he will get it and send it to me. There was nothing more I could do at that point so I got in my car and left. Not to mention the car was washed, not very well in my opinion, a dark smudge on my seat, and I find the paper floor mat along with the paper tag that goes on the key ring crumpled up and thrown on my passenger floor. If someone is going to pick it up and crumple it up, might as well take it out and throw it away. Not trash it on my floor. Just as I exited the dealer I pulled over to the curb to use my phone and check oil status to see if the oil was at the correct level. I get a warning! oil level too high! contact my bmw center. I go back the SA2 and he has this annoyed look when he sees me coming towards him again. I tell him oil is too high, he then checks it and tries to explain that it's probably a faulty sensor and that I'm going to have to leave it overnight because everyone's gone. As I'm in his office waiting for him to write up the paper work another SA that sits next to him is trying to find the "service bulletin" on his computer about not changing the tranny or diff fluids for a 6mt. (they will never find it, I contacted BMW NA couple days later and they confirmed it doesn't exist) Next day- SA2 calls me to let me know car is ready. I asked was all 3 fluids changed and he said yes. I go to pick up my car and i look over the invoice and it states engine oil refilled to correct level AND trans fluid changed! I guess they never found that service bulletin. But Diff fluid wasn't stated on the invoice so I don't know if that was changed. Not only do they lie about changing required fluids but they make up a story saying there's a service bulletin that states that it does not need to be changed. They only put in the trans fluid after they screwed up with the over fill on engine oil and knew I was waiting to see the so called "service bulletin" More
SO I've taken may car there for the last 4 time to get various services done including the normal 15k services in which I just had 2 months ago. I drive only 700 miles a month so not much ware and tare o various services done including the normal 15k services in which I just had 2 months ago. I drive only 700 miles a month so not much ware and tare on my BMW. On the last service the did all the normal (or least I was told they did) oil, change, brake service even changing 6+ hoses. They even recommend a fuel flush to clean out all my injectors and fuel system in which I agreed to in the end the service all ran over $1500. No problem, cars need maintenance I understand things go bad and need to get get tuned to work. Well I just went back to them today because my "Engine Needs service soon" light went on on a trip back from AZ. Well the service manager called me a little while later and went over the list of things that needed to be replaced/fixed/repaired including a computer reset. I realized that it sounded just like what I just had done in 2 months prior he even mentioned getting the fuel flush. And when I called him on that he just said "Oh well you're right, then let me take those things off the list and now you owe..." WHAT? So I'm just having them take care of the computer rest and I'm and I am no longer going to Century West BMW ever again! And I highly recommend that if you have them list everything that they do and get everything in writing. More
I have purchased 2 cars over the last 5 years. I was quite happy until very recently. (10/22/08). I took my car to a tire dealership to replace my tires at which time I was informed that the key provide quite happy until very recently. (10/22/08). I took my car to a tire dealership to replace my tires at which time I was informed that the key provided for the wheel lock did not fit. (No big deal, so I thought) I called the dealership, which was right down the street and was told I needed to DRIVE in and make an appointment. Long story short, I had my tires replaced; went to the dealership, and they questioned me as to why the key to the lock nut that was in the trunk did not fit the lock nut on the wheel, to which I responded (on more than 1 occasion "you tell me, I purchased the car here") I was told they would need to get an OK from a service manager. FINE!! At this point, I really am furious becoause I spent a lot of time at both the tire shop and at the BMW dealer. I then get my car back with the STATEMENT on my service statement saying "client states no wheel lock was found when replacing the tires...wrong key supplied." WHAT A LIE!!!! Was anyone listening?!!!! I clearly and emphatically stated that the wrong key was supplied. The resolution statement on their behalf was "INSTALL NEW LOCK SET< OK AS ONE TIME GOODWILL PER ***** ******" I am not a charity case and I don't care about the price of the lock set, but don't call ME a liar and don't treat me like a charity case when they are getting their money. Last time client, EVER!!! What a BIG LETDOWN BWM!!! More
My E36 was having major problems, so I went to Century West to get it checked out. Diagnostics alone cost me $126, and they wanted to charge me $4,000+ to replace the catalytic converter and a slew of oth West to get it checked out. Diagnostics alone cost me $126, and they wanted to charge me $4,000+ to replace the catalytic converter and a slew of other issues. I wish there was a negative rating option for pricing! When I said I was going to get a second opinion, they refused to print out a detailed list of repairs and costs. After some serious nudging I finally got a guy to handwrite a very spare list of problems on a piece of scrap paper. I definitely felt like I was getting second-hand treatment because I'm a woman in my 20's. I went down the street to an independent service place and paid half of what Century West wanted to charge, and with MUCH better and friendlier service. Avoid Century West for service issues! More
