Withheld info about my vehicle and issues I purchased a car from Champion one year ago, and even though I was in a rush to get a "new" vehicle, I went to a dealership (instead of private sell I purchased a car from Champion one year ago, and even though I was in a rush to get a "new" vehicle, I went to a dealership (instead of private sellers) because I THOUGHT they would be honest with me and NOT give me a car that needed work done. When I looked for a Jeep online, I contacted them asking to see a certain Jeep (with all of the specific vehicle info included). They contacted me saying that the vehicle will be at the Lansing location in the morning so I showed up and they proceeded to tell me that the vehicle had been sold. But on my way home, they called me because they realized that they were looking at the wrong vehicle, and I could come in the next morning to look at the Jeep I saw online. The next morning I came in and found out that the original Jeep I looked at was now sold!!! WHAT?!?!? AND ALL OF THAT WAS BEFORE I BOUGHT A VEHICLE!!! Foolishly, when they said they had similar Jeep that I could look at, I stayed (My then current vehicle was on its last legs, so I was a little desparate). They even provided a document that stated that this new Jeep (06 Commander) was in much better condition than others of that year. I ended up purchasing the vehicle (no extended warranty because "it's a dealer! They would be screw me over!" HA!) and quickly, I discovered issues! Here's the list: - 6 year old battery that had issues & quit within a few weeks - Bad suspension - Refurbished transmission (they told me this later) - Missing transmission fluid tube plug (it was open to the elements until I discovered it months later) - Who knows what else?!! My vehicle is now in the shop getting checked out, and on the test drive alone, they noticed a few other possible issues I took the vehicle back into Champion after I discovered the issues above, and they told me that they would look over the entire vehicle and "see what we can do for you after the inspection". They found the issues listed and here's what they told me that they could do for me: NOTHING!!!! First, they told me, "You could have had the vehicle inspected by someone else before you bought it." ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!? Then, they told me that because I didn't purchase the extended warranty, they couldn't do any repairs for free; I would have to pay for the repairs. DO NOT BUY, TRADE, VISIT, CALL, OR THINK ABOUT GOING TO CHAMPION FOR ANYTHING!!! ***Champion Reps, don't bother replying to this review with "We're sorry that your experience didn't meet your expectations." From what you've told me and what I've read in other reviews, you're not sorry. AGAIN, DO NOT BUY, TRADE, VISIT, CALL, OR THINK ABOUT GOING TO CHAMPION FOR ANYTHING!!! More
Rediculous - parts and sales The vehicle I bought less than 1 yr ago now has motor gasket, motor, and major brake issues. Less than 2,000 miles and breaks went totally out. After dealing with different managers etc and told them there "whatever point inspection" should have caught a didn't. Sold me a bumper to bumper warranty which later to find out does not cover hoses and gaskets. The sold me something which was not there and then quoted over $2500 to replace the gaskets. After 30 minutes dealing with the cashier they finally let me take the van. I did the job in am afternoon for $35 in parts. They also tried tell me more issues for another $2500 which a mechanic told me was B.S. I now trying to sell this lemon... thanks for all the hassel champion. Bottom line sales and service are both horrible More

Disgusting, unprofessional, deceitful STEAR CLEAR OF THIS DEALERSHIP!!! This dealership is highly unprfessional. I spent hours of my time trying to line up a new car that I was promised and they pulled a CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH. Let me drive away knowing they brought over a completely different car with a totally different vin number (then the one I was promised) after I asked them if they verified the new vin with the new insurance I had faxed over. They took advantage of me and miscommunicated everything a saleman/sales manager should know to make clear with a new buyer. If youre thinking about buying a car from here, RUN!!! More
Very Unprofessional I went in for a transmission fluid check. This was my first time using this dealership and my service was terrible. I first spoke to a salesman inside I went in for a transmission fluid check. This was my first time using this dealership and my service was terrible. I first spoke to a salesman inside the store. He treated me like I was an idiot because I asked him how to go about having someone check my fluid. I went to get back in my car to pull around to the service area and one of the salesman parked a Jeep behind my vehicle. I had to get out and ask if they could please move so I could back out. I got into the service station and the first man I talked to basically told me he didnt have time to help me because he was assisting another person and said it would take a while, and cost money! He was not friendly whatsoever and treated me like an idiot. So then I stepped back and waited until another man called me over. He said he was new and had to go ask someone for help. He came out of the service shop and just got right in my vehicle without warning and popped the hood and stuck the dipstick in. The serviceman told me I needed a transmission flush and they could schedule it for me. The new guy told me if I went back and talked to the first man I talked to he would definitely try and sell me a flush for $150.00. What I was wondering was, why did the first guy give me false information telling me I would have to wait a while, and pay for it when it was such a simple procedure? I just left there very unsatisfied with my service. Everyone there seemed very rude and unprofessional and I felt like I was bothering them. Ive never had this experience with any other dealerships before. Pretty poor customer service. More
When you want to buy a car, you really want to know how much the car is. It seems like the most basic thing to be told, but they don't want to do that. They are the typical, shady car dealership of days pa much the car is. It seems like the most basic thing to be told, but they don't want to do that. They are the typical, shady car dealership of days past. I went to many dealers in Lansing in the past few weeks including Bud Kouts, Glenn Buege, and Shaheen. They were extremely friendly, up front, helpful individuals at the other dealers. The prices were told immediately. At Champion, I asked the price of the car about 10 times before I was finally told. That was after they tried to tell me it was worth $1500 more than it really was. Fortunately I have a smart phone so I could look up their lies before they go too out of hand. The salesman was taking me for a test drive and I asked him how much the car was. He couldn't tell me?!? He had the spec sheet, he was a blatant liar and I should not have given him as much time as I did. They say they can finance, here are the payments, and finally here is the total amount of the car. BUT, we don't know the interest rate. WHAT? If you have all the numbers, why can't you calculate an interest rate...Here, let me do it for you on my phone. So I do, and they argue with me about what the number is telling me that "phones are sometimes wrong". This place is a total joke. I bought my car from Shaheen. The prices are negotiable, but of course there is a clear starting point. They worked out an insane deal with me and got me out the door, including taxes and all Secretary of State fees, for less than the car is worth! You ask a question, they answer it, no lying or procrastinating or anything like that. Don't worry about "being rude" to the salesman and walking out of Champion--I assure you, they don't care about being rude to you. The minute they realize you don't want anything to do with their deceit, they write you off like nothing. It is all for show. More

The also tried to tell us that a purchasing a service contract wa paperwork came out a completely different (higher) price appeared. Poor management. The also tried to tell us that a purchasing a service contract was required. The employees were not polite and curteous. We will never go back to this dealership for anything. More
