Make good on the follow-up JC was good in finding us the vehicle we wanted after we gave him a long list of "must haves" and options. After one cropped up that looked particularly promising, we were on our way to the dealership from out of town -- within about 20 minutes of arriving -- and got the news that the "people" (a euphemism) at Chapman BMW Chandler had another customer who wanted to look at the car and wouldn't wait for us to arrive even though we had pre-arranged for a test drive, so the Chandler "people" in essence commandeered the vehicle and drove it away off the Chapman at Camelback lot, ignoring JC's protests! Sadly, the car was sold by the time we got there. We were NOT happy. We drove another available X1, but were not convinced it was the right one for us. Had we known the particular one we had identified was the one for us, I would have put money down to hold it, so that was our risk. The decision was made to wait and look for another one. A couple weeks went by with no good prospects, The, as it turned out, I was able to find another one at a different dealership and to JC's credit, he got of hold of the folks there and literally over the weekend was able to ascertain it was eligible for certification as a CPO, got it, had it certified, and guaranteed it'd be ours with no strings attached. We worked out a price and terms of a trade-in easily via email, and to his word, the vehicle was exactly as promised, and we were able to save a lot of time by taking care of much of the paperwork ahead of time. We actually liked the color and amenities packages better on this particular one, as it turned out. During our checking out the vehicle, we discovered that there was a tonneau cover missing in the hatch, and JC somehow managed to wrangle one and made sure everything was there that belonged o the vehicle according to our expectations. This is the second BMW purchased used within the last 1.5 years and this one -- after a bit of a bumpy start -- came through. The service department has also been a pleasure to deal with and overall, we're pleased with this experience after a bit of a rocky start. After what Chapman BMW Chandler did to us, I would never set foot on the place. Interrupting a potential sale in progress is just plain cutthroat and disrespectful of the same company's other dealerships. That was a shameful act. Stick with Chapman on Camelback for professionalism and you will drive away knowing that you've been well taken care of. Thanks very much, JC, for all your efforts in making this X1 sale happen. Certified used car sale I was fortunate to be paired with Sammy DeStefano as I came into Chapman Certified Used dealership. He did an excellent job of walking me through how I was fortunate to be paired with Sammy DeStefano as I came into Chapman Certified Used dealership. He did an excellent job of walking me through how they get the cars they sell and the benefits of certified vs simply used. He was very good at inquiring as to what my needs were after I discussed which car type I was looking for. He listened well. Never tried to push me one way or the other. He knows his machines well, and was eager to show me all the features. When it came time to make a deal, again he listened to what I wanted, not pulling together some shell game document. He was also able to pull off the deal I wanted to make. It was fast easy and pleasant. As testament to Sammy's ownership in the process, even after the sale, he spent an inordinate time showing me more features and how to get the most out of my new car. His passion and dedication to his profession made the process the best car buying experience I've had. Pricing was considerably higher for parts and labor than other outlets for the same BMW parts. Overall, I would work with this location and will probably buy directly from them next time. More
