We recently purchased a new 2026 Tahoe from Chapman Yuma and I want to separate two very different experiences we had during the process. First, our salesman Manuel was excellent. He was patient, professional, helpful, and worked with us throughout the entire purchase. We genuinely appreciated the way he treated us and were very satisfied with his customer service. Unfortunately, our experience with finance manager Joseph Schwaderer in the finance department was completely different. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I did not want extended warranties, additional protection packages, or GAP coverage through the dealership. Despite repeatedly declining these products, the finance manager continued pushing them aggressively and presented the pricing in a way that felt very misleading. At one point, we were told GAP would cost one amount by itself, but if we bundled warranties with it, the payment would supposedly only increase by a few dollars more per month. This ultimately added approximately $6,000–$6,500 in add-ons to our deal. After reviewing the paperwork more carefully afterward, I discovered additional concerns with how the financing was structured. When I declined the dealership add-ons, the payment and interest figures changed in a way that was never properly explained upfront. When I questioned this, I was told the lower rate was tied to purchasing the warranties as part of a “package,” which was never clearly disclosed during signing and did not make sense to me. What was most frustrating was how difficult communication became once the deal was completed. Over the course of several days, I made repeated calls trying to resolve concerns with the financing and add-ons. Although I eventually received responses, it felt like I had to constantly follow up just to get updates or movement on the issue. The process became far more stressful and time-consuming than it should have been before the unwanted products were finally removed and corrected. After securing GAP coverage independently through our own financial institution for a fraction of the dealership’s price, the numbers changed significantly and our payment ended up being roughly $100 less per month without all the add-ons we originally declined. I understand dealerships offer products and services during financing, and I fully respect that. However, customers should never feel pressured or pushed into products they clearly stated they did not want. Again, Manuel did a great job and deserves recognition for his professionalism. Unfortunately, our experience with the finance department left a very negative impression and took away from what should have been an exciting vehicle purchase. More
Carlos w/ Chapman Chevrolet Service Department was absolutely amazing. Always kept me up to date on all issues with my truck. Sadly, the Extended Warranty with DLP was absolute trash and never responded to any emails, and even with calls they would lie and push the goalposts back further. However, Carlos was on the ball and made sure everything was as good as good can be. I have no issues with Chapman Service and will gladly take my truck back there anytime i need anything done, because i know there is an advocate in the service department for the public :). More
