Hello Lisa, thank you for taking the time to write your review, and please accept my apology for the problems related to your service visit. I do not want to offer excuses for the these problems, although I would like to explain the challenges we were working with last Tuesday. Yes, Russell was out for the day for his dauughter's surgery. For this reason we were short staffed on the service drive and could not assist customers as quickly as they deserved. Being stuck behind an empty car was completely unacceptable, therefore I hired two additional porters yesterday to move cars off the service drive quicker. Vince's reaction to your question regarding customer service was probably more of disappointment with himself or the difficulty of the situation. He did his best to cover for Russell in addition to his normal eleven hour work day. Regarding the rental car problem, both Avis and Enterprise were out of cars last Tuesday and were only able to rent cars when they were returned. Overall, rental cars have been a problem for our dealership for the last couple of years. We have tried using Enterprise, Avis, Hertz and Budget. Hertz and Budget were unable to meet the needs of our customers. Enterprise usually meets the needs of our customers, although individual attention is sometimes lacking. Avis provides the best service of the four although their invoicing and accounting is complicated. We are unable to get monthly consolidated statements, and the accuracy of the individual invoices mailed are always in question. Try to imagine the difficulty of not getting a monthly credit card statement, and the invoices mailed to you after every credit card purchase cannot be reconciled against your credit card receipts. Lastly, I want to assure your that I have not received a dime from Enterprise or any other car rental company. Again, please accept my apology, and be assured that we will utilize your feedback seek improvements in our department. Derrick (service manager) @ Chapman

Thank you for your reply but it was completely erroneous on the rental car stock. Avis had PLENTY of cars in stock. I saw them with my own eyes. I was able to rent with them that day because I have a good business relationship with them. My advice was merely for your company to remedy whatver ails your business relationship with Avis. They are a wonderful company to deal with and Enterprise is a complete nightmare. Some sort of compromise or peace can and should be made if you really are concerned with true customer service. In the future, I will make my own reservation with Avis so a car is definitely ready for me, but again, there was no problem with supply, just WHO was demanding. Sincerely, Lisa Tarno

Hi Lisa, I spoke with Stacy (manager at Avis, 433-2259) this morning, and she confirmed that they were out of cars last Tuesday (20th). I also listened to our phone recordings from the 20th. Vince called at 9:27 and was told by Lexi(?) that the were all booked and out of cars. He called back again at 9:32 and was told by Lexi that they were not allowed to book cars, and they were working off of returns. He then mentioned your name and something about a Mustang, and a car became available. If you still believe this to be erroneous, I would like to invite you to come by for a visit, and we can both listen to the recordings. Overall, customer service is our priority. For this reason we tolerate the accounting problems and still offer Avis as a rental option. Derrick

Hello Doctor, thank you for complementing Vince, and I apologize for the situation which occurred with Kirk. I can fully appreciate your educational achievements; other members of my family have attained similar higher degrees, and I personally experienced the sacrifices related to earning a degree in economics. Unfortunately, Kirk has more of a technical/mechanical background and is less experienced in face to face customer interaction. Overall, he has an extremely high success rate in getting complicated problems solved, and in you wife's situation he was only trying to figure out how the vehicle had to be operated to get the problem to occur and was asking your wife to try shifting the transmission a specific way to cause the problem. After isolating the internal component failure, Kirk called the factory engineers and received authorization to replace the entire transmission. Yes, I am working with Kirk and his ability to interact with customers. Your input will definitely assist with our goal of achieving better customer assistance on the service drive.
