After speaking with your attorney, I have a few updates to share. To begin with, as we both know, you virtually demolished this truck by taking it off road and driving it so hard as to smash both battery boxes so that the batteries exploded and leaked on to the PCM shorting it out. We’ve discussed this with your attorney and they are in agreement that this is not something that we are responsible for. I’m told that they made arrangements to pick the vehicle up on Friday. I’m so sorry that we did such a poor job with your attempt to purchase a vehicle from Chapman. If you would like to share your full name with me I can address your concerns specifically. The experience you recount is highly unusual for our store but I can certainly see how something like that could happen, even if it never should. We don’t want anyone to ever have inadequate service, especially someone new to our area. It is customary for dealers in our area (I know it doesn’t happen everywhere in the country) to deliver customers in vehicles based on our understanding of their ability to qualify for the purchase. More often than not we are accurate but on some occasions banks require additional information or changes to the terms. All agreements are subject to lender approval and that understanding protects both the customer & the dealership. Nevertheless, there should not have been so much confusion surrounding your transaction and I apologize again for our part in that.
