Realizing the times we are in now. Inflation and bottlenecks are killing everyone's business and all other dealers must adjust and we consumers must as well adjust. To start, ended up not purchasing the vehicle so I can’t speak to all aspects of City Kia and I won’t speak to the quality of the individuals I worked with as they were generally nice. I do not have issues speak to all aspects of City Kia and I won’t speak to the quality of the individuals I worked with as they were generally nice. I do not have issues with dealers attempting to recoup costs of preparing a vehicle for sale even though the decision and amount of effort is at their discretion and consumers may not value what they offer as a standard. What I did have an issue with was that there was documentation provided from the service department as to what was completed on the car prior to showing that was proven to be false and the City Kia team agreed and apologized for the false information. This was followed up by discounting the potential purchase by 1000.00 to offset a portion of the total ~3200.00 in required dealer fees tacked on to the advertised price prior to tax,tag,title and doc fees. (Their website does fairly state these fees but as consumer I wanted to feel good that they were just a profit grab) We then discussed value of a trade in we were considering. The only reason this was considered and a part of why we came to City Kia was that they are supposedly running a promotion to offer up to 5,000.00 above and beyond Kelly Blue Book value. The sales reps agreed that my vehicle would be considered at least “good” condition based on KBBs scale. The trade-in offer I received was laughable and below the average trade in value of “fair” condition with little to no room to negotiate further. Considering all the inconsistencies in paperwork and over feeling like we were heavily baited and switched my wife and I had to make the decision to not do business with this establishment. Do your due diligence when making large purchases and ask for evidence and never feel like you have to purchase something just because they got you to come in. More
