Since moving to Texas in 2004, every car our family has purchased, and our daughter as well have come from the Don Davis auto group. That relationship has sadly ended. I’d like to share why. In November our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee had an issue with overheating and a check engine light. Thinking the issue should be under warranty we immediately pulled over and called Don Davis Chrysler Jeep, where the vehicle was purchased. After asking to speak to a service manager we were informed that no, the only warranty remaining on the Jeep was on the tires. We took the Jeep to a nearby mechanic and they corrected the overheating, but we’re unable to determine the cause of the check engine light. After $2400 of repairs the mechanic contacted a different dealership, who immediately asked why they were working on it, as the issue was still under warranty! After taking the Jeep to this dealership for the remaining repairs, I contacted the general manager of Don Davis Chrysler Jeep, Abraham Escareno. Abraham reviewed my call with his service manager and agreed that I had clearly been told it was not under warranty. Abraham however refused to reimburse us for the money spent on repairs that should have been covered. After multiple calls Abraham informed me that it was actually not his team’s responsibility to tell me what is under warranty, that it’s my responsibility to understand what is warrantied, and offered instead an extension of the warrant. Yes, an extension of the warranty his dealership had already failed to honor. The Jeep in the end required a new engine and cylinder heads. Obviously a very expensive repair and thankfully the secondary dealership took care of completely. So in the end, general manager Abraham Escareno saved Don Davis Chrysler Jeep from reimbursing me the money I paid out of pocket, and has lost what has been a loyal 19 year customer.
