I called Cliff Wall and was told that it happened quite often. I wasn't in a hurry but they were able to get to my vehicle the next day. In addition, I had an appt in June to get my brake lamp switch fixed, due to a recall earlier this year. They went ahead and took care of that while they had my vehicle. It was a very nice surprise - excellent service! More
Technician Damaged Interior Electronic Components I dropped my car off at Cliff Wall Subaru in Green Bay, WI for recall work (Passenger Airbag Recall.) Upon picking up my car I noticed that my GPS (af I dropped my car off at Cliff Wall Subaru in Green Bay, WI for recall work (Passenger Airbag Recall.) Upon picking up my car I noticed that my GPS (aftermarket Garmin) and DashCAM (also aftermarket) did not turn on. I had these items hardwired to ignition switched 12v. After getting home I started troubleshooting the problem and found that my 12V outlet in the console was unplgged (No idea why, shouldn't have been needed for the passenger airbag work. I also found the parking brake sensor wire was ripped from the plug. Finally, I found that one of the two dc-dc voltage converters had the wires ripped out of it from under the drivers side by the fuse box. My only guess is that the technician was trying to disable my dashcam and by pulling on the wires, broke them. I can't explain why my parking brake wire was broken from the switch or why the 12v outlet in the console was unplugged. Another note on this dealer: My wife and I quit going there years ago, but we were short on time this time. Wish I had gone to a different dealer. The reason we quit going there about 5-6 years is one of the Service Writers (John) said something misogynistic and condescending to my wife when she was trying to explain warranty work (which took them 3 times to get right.) My wife is a mechanical engineer and knows enough to talk about car repairs. John shut her down by saying something like "don't worry missy the guys will take care of it." My wife left and made me go back to drop the car off she was so upset. This was the 3rd time our car was in for the same warranty work (oil pump leak) and after reviewing the shop manual ON MY OWN I found that after cleaning the old seal away, cleaning with solvent, the Subaru Manual states to let the bare surface of the pump location air dry overnight and then to reseal; well, the first two times we took it in the work was done the same day; so low and behold the 3rd time they kept the car overnight, but that was after I told them the correct way to do it. I do not recommend or trust Cliff Wall Subaru. UPDATE: Cliff Wall states in their reply to this review that they offered to repair the damaged electrical items; NO, THEY DID NOT. I notified John the Service Writer before leaving the shop that there was damage done and I never heard back from them; they never tried to contact me nor did they offer to fix the repairs. More
