I am writing this review to protect other customers from what I experienced at Hyundai College Park Service Center. What happened to me was not a simple case of poor customer service — it was dangerous, dis what I experienced at Hyundai College Park Service Center. What happened to me was not a simple case of poor customer service — it was dangerous, dishonest, and deeply unprofessional from the service floor all the way up to general manager Joseph. My transmission failed on the highway in 2025 with no warning and was repaired under warranty at this location. In January 2026 the exact same transmission failed again on the highway — complete shutdown at highway speed with zero warning. I had my car towed back to Hyundai College Park where they confirmed the failure, accepted the vehicle for repair, and provided me with a rental car. What followed was four months of complete silence. My car sat at this dealership from January 2026 through May 2026 and I received not a single proactive update. I reached out multiple times and was largely ignored. When I finally received a response in April 2026 I was told they were working on getting Hyundai corporate to authorize the warranty repair. I was patient. I waited. On May 21, 2026 my service advisor called to tell me my car was ready. He explicitly told me the transmission had been fully repaired and that Hyundai corporate had covered the entire cost under warranty. I was relieved after four months of waiting and went to pick up my car the following day. On May 22, 2026 I paid $1,300 for exhaust services and drove off the lot. Within 15 minutes my transmission failed for the third time. My car shut down completely while I was executing a turn in an active turning lane in live traffic. I had just enough time to notice the car jerking, call the dealership to warn them, and then my car died in the middle of the road leaving me stranded and in danger. When I called the dealership after this third breakdown, general manager Joseph admitted in a recorded phone conversation that the transmission had never been repaired at any point during the four months my car was in their possession. He told me the car was released not because the repairs were complete but because the dealership wanted their rental car back. He made a deliberate decision to release my vehicle knowing the transmission was unrepaired and unsafe and said nothing to me about it. The unprofessionalism did not stop there. When my family contacted Joseph demanding answers and an explanation for why I was allowed to drive off in an unsafe vehicle, he was shockingly rude, smug, and completely dismissive. He showed absolutely no remorse for the fact that his decision endangered my life. He did not apologize once. Instead he told us not to put any more money into the car and refused to reimburse my $178 rental car expense — a cost I was forced to incur solely because of his team's negligence. When I called again on May 26, 2026, Joseph maintained the same arrogant and unapologetic attitude, claiming the transmission was no longer under warranty despite the fact that my 2020 Elantra has only 95,000 miles and is still within Hyundai's 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. To summarize what this dealership and Joseph did: they held my car for four months without repairing it, called me to say it was fixed when it was not, sent me off in a vehicle they knew was dangerous, my transmission failed within 15 minutes putting my life at risk for the third time, and when confronted Joseph was rude, dismissive, unapologetic, and showed zero accountability or basic human decency toward me or my family. If you are considering bringing your vehicle to Hyundai College Park Service Center, please take this review seriously. More
Have purchased 4 vehicles from College Park Hyundai over a span of approximately 15 years. To date, I have had no problems with my interactions with them. Very disappointed with the service. I called to check the status on my car, and I was put on hold for 12 or 13 minutes, only to be hung up on after waiting so long. The wrong part was ordered for my car more than once. And then ultimately, what I brought my car in for still wasn't really fixed, and that's after spending $1,400. Tried to speak to the manager before they closed for the day, and he was busy. Asked to have him call me back, but nothing. Needless to say, I won't take my car there in the future, but I will take my car back in hopes that they can fix the problem I originally went in for. I wouldn't recommend their service shop to anyone. More

My appointment was for 8 AM on a Saturday, I dropped my car off on Friday night. I still have no receipt for the work having been completely. Extremely disappointed. My car was damaged and I didn't notice until a piece under the car dropped. I've called 3 times immediately put on hold and then hung up on. My best advice is to avoid College Park Hyundai. More
