Very disappointed with this dealership community motors. I have bought 2 vehicles from them in the last few years. I did all my service with them. Requested an oil chance with them for full synthetic oil I have bought 2 vehicles from them in the last few years. I did all my service with them. Requested an oil chance with them for full synthetic oil, which is what we always did with our truck. Our last oil change they took it upon themselves to put blended oil in it. Since we were leaving town we were told by the service department to have it changed when we got to where we were going & they would pay the difference when we got back. We’ll we didn’t make it back because the truck threw a rod because of the wrong oil. You can not run pure synthetic from day one then run the regular oil they put in. Come to find out today they had never put in the pure synthetic oil we had been requesting or paying for. They had been put blended oil in all along. We ended up having to buy another truck in Florida to bring our 5th wheel home. The general manager & the service manager both basically said sorry about your bad luck. I’ve tried numerous times to contact Jim the owner & he has not bothered to return my calls/messages. Obviously he doesn’t give a xxxx about the “little” people. I’m not asking for them to fix or replace the truck but I feel the least that could have been done is sort of reimbursement for all the trouble. Also for Jim to have the respect for his customers to return a phone call. This is one person who will no longer be a customer or recommend the community motors dealership again. More

We had a nice conversation, and we all agreed that this situation was unfortunate and it could be fixed. The tangled lines of communication have been unknotted -- Community Motors is taking the car back!! Mr. Skarlis is a class act - kind and understanding, and I am eternally grateful for his willingness to hear us out and work with my family to bring this to a close in a manner where no one goes away mad. Mr. Skarlis has restored my faith in the Community Motors car buying experience. ❤ ---------- BACKGROUND: Community Motors, Cedar Falls Iowa, sold a new car to my parents, who are in their 90s, a couple days ago. For a variety of reasons, this sale should have never happened. The car was driven a couple miles, parked in the garage. When we became aware of what happened, we had tried to work with the dealership to return the car. The conversation was pretty short - the person we spoke to at the dealership refused to consider taking the car back. I feared that the dealership had taken advantage of my elderly parents. More
