Jamie, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that there was some confusion on your tires. We recommended four tires because they were all at 5/32 of tread remaining. So, given it's an AWD vehicle the difference in tread depth between your 5/32 and a new tire is going to strain the differentials on your vehicle. In the owner's manual Subaru indicates the difference shouldn't be more than 2/32 or long-term damage to the AWD system may occur. I'm guessing that the service center that sold you the 1 tire, may not be up to speed on the Subaru AWD system. Hope this helps clear up any confusion, but if you have any questions or concerns, Patrick and myself are always here and happy to help so please don't hesitate to ask for either one of us. I understand the parameters for tires and for AWD vehicles. I was also told by multiple other dealers that my tires had more tread left in them than was reported to me at Copeland, and the one I ultimately bought from assured me the remaining tires had more than half their life still remaining, so as long as I bought the same replacement tire it was worthwhile to do just one. What frustrated me the most was that I was charged for the tire rotation only to then after the service be told they would all need to be replaced for an exorbitantly high price. That, followed by the discrepancies I then discovered in the tread depth of my tires, made me feel taken advantage of and has compromised the trust I previously had in this service department.

Thank you for the additional information. I'll be happy to have you credited for the tire rotation and would love to measure the tire tread with you at some point together so we can see what the tread depth of the new tire is vs the other 3. Our only goal is to not have you encounter expensive repairs or inconvenient failures down the road and to allow you to make your own calculated decisions. Unlike most repair facilities our biggest challenge on any single day is how to get all of our work completed and not to find ways to upsell tires that have very little gross profit built into them, although I'm sure that people may think otherwise.
