Bitter Sweet I definitely feel bitter sweet. I had the intention of going to the dealership for a specific car I saw from an ad online. The disclaimer noted that i I definitely feel bitter sweet. I had the intention of going to the dealership for a specific car I saw from an ad online. The disclaimer noted that it would not necessarily reflect the price at the dealership, which is understandable. I pre-calculated the pricing, along with the discounts and with a down payment, and my monthly car payment would be the price I estimated paying had the MSRP stayed/been the same. When I went for a test drive, I noted that the car was about $3,000 more due to added features and an added accessory package. I saw that they factored this out and the price was just over $600 (5x less) added to the car/MSRP. Compared to $3,000 - no big deal, right? However, there were additional charges that I was not made aware of - $799 for "Optional EXT/INT protection" and $699 for a pre-delivery service charge. A total of $1,498 out of my pocket which ups my car payment a good $30 a month which would have put me to where I wanted my monthly payments to be at. There is a minor discrepancy with the apr. I was told the dealership was going to use my bank's apr at 2.59% and they ended up using another bank that was at 2.99%. It is not that much of a jump but it is still money out of my pocket. They could have at least been professional and told me that it would be around the apr my bank gave me and not a flat out... we will use your bank's apr. My intentions getting this car, made known to the dealership, was to get a low payment as I have the intentions of getting a different car down the road since I do not have the financial means, at the moment, for the car that I actually want. Ultimately, I feel deceived because I was not made aware of $1,498 being added to the price of the car and it makes it bitter sweet because I signed for the car that I wanted but figured all this out (pricing) after the matter. More
