Dear kturell, Thank you for chatting with me earlier today about your Acura and I am glad to hear you had a exceptional experience with me and the Criswell Acura team. Regarding your comment with the pricing of the Catalytic converter, it is important that when obtaining a quote to compare apples to apples. The quote given to you by us was for the replacement of a genuine Acura catalytic converter, the heat shield and the gaskets and other necessary hardware including installation. I contacted our local Pep Boys and the price was more than double the price you stated and it only included the price to replace the catalytic converter without needed additional items. Genuine Acura parts are made to Acura’s strict manufacturing specifications and fit the Acura vehicles to exact specifications. These parts tend to far outlast non-Acura parts. Aftermarket catalytic converters are often remanufactured in China and often at times cut to fit, requiring modifications to your Acura's existing exhaust. The oxygen sensor lugs at times are not in the correct place which requires a need to modify the wire harness as well. Needless to say, this many times leads to additional issues. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to explain this earlier on the phone and we look forward to replacing your catalytic converter properly for you.
