Above and beyond This was the second time that I visited Crossroads Ford of Prince George within the last couple of months. My first experience was should I say, very disturbing. I went there looking to purchase a new 2019 F-150 Lariat 4x4. I saw some things that grabbed my attention and asked the salesperson if he could get an estimate on my trade-in which was a 2011 F-150 Lariat 4x4 with under 100k miles. I had already done my due diligence and checked with KBB to get a general idea of my trade. The salesman contacted me within several days by email(my preference) telling me that he would offer me a little over 14k! Needless to say I was shocked, I told him that I thought that he was trying to "low ball" me with a price like that. KBB had it listed anywhere between $14500. and $18700. I believe. I told him I thought it was worth more than his offer and closer to the high end value. He abruptly told me that we were too far apart and wished me well and good luck! He never even did a counter offer, needless to say I was done with him. Then on April 5th I received an video email from their Sales Manager Happy Harry Turner apologizing for the way I was treated by the previous salesperson. He extended an invitation to come back and he would deal directly with me to make sure I was taken care of properly. Advance forward to earlier this week (May 20th) that I saw ads for 0% for 72 mo, and my interest grew even more. I started shopping around online with different dealerships and found very few like I wanted with the exception of CR PG. Mr Turner told me that he could get me the vehicle delivered from another one of the dealerships if I were interested. He invited me to come down to the dealership so they could go over my vehicle to give me a trad-in quote. So I set up an appointment for Friday, May 24th at two p.m. with Mr. Turner. When I arrived I was greeted by the previous "low ball" salesman and he asked if he could help me and I told him I have a 2 p.m. appointment with Mr. Turner. He escorted me in the building and I was greeted by Mr. Turner and Ms. Timiara Jones whom I had corresponded with the previous day. Mr. Turner assured me that I would be completely satisfied and they would do everything within their power to get me the vehicle that I wanted and at the price I was comfortable with and that I would not get a "low ball" figure on my trade. Then Mr. Turner introduce me to Lemar Perez a sales rep who sat down with me to go over everything. He then told me that they had a vehicle that they just had in that was very close to what I was looking for. We went outside and there it was, simply beautiful, a Ruby Red 2019 F-150 Lariat 4x4 that was pretty much loaded just like I wanted. We went back in and went over the numbers of trade-in and financing and were able to strike a deal that very same evening. At the time I was not able to go home and come back with the title of my trade-in so Mr. Perez graciously offered to deliver my new vehicle to my home and go over everything with me and pick up my trade and title. So, to Mr. Turner, Ms Jones and Mr Perez, THANK YOU for providing the quality of service and professionalism and respect during my purchasing process. It is because of you that my purchasing experience was "Above and Beyond" what I ever expected. Again thank you Happy Harry Turner, Timiara Jones and Lemar Perez! Now for the problem that I have with Ford Motor Company's ID.me. I served my country in the United States Army from April 1980 until April 1984 and was trying to get the rebate for Military Veterans. On the ID.me website it states that ALL Veterans are eligible but what it's NOT until you submit your information does it say that YOU and YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY IS NOT ELIGIBLE due to the fact that ID.me has a cutoff date of 1985. So in other words anyone such as myself and the millions of Veterans that like me served before 1985 are ineligible for the Veterans Rebate. This was almost a DEAL BREAKER for me because I was at the point of walking out and NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH OR EVER PURCHASING ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT! Ford Motor Company should be ashamed of themselves for doing business with a third party contractor that has this hidden clause and refuses to allow the men and women who have proudly served this great country! It was only until Mr. Turner and Mr. Perez assured me that they would get the extra rebate money from somewhere else and apply it to my purchase that I continued with the sale! I know most of you don't have a clue what it means to raise your right hand and take The Oath of Enlistment to The United States of America," I(NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." ONCE A VETERAN, ALWAYS A VETERAN! This shows a blatant disservice and disrespect for ALL VETERANS and I urge Ford Motor Company to change this and get rid of any cutoff dates! I dropped my truck off for service early Monday morning expecting the vehicle to be ready by the afternoon. I was provided a loaner vehicle that was not functional for my family. I own a Ford Explorer and was given a Ford Fusion. I had to call that evening to be told my car was not going to be ready for another 24 hours. I would have appreciated someone calling me to tell me this verses me having to call and I had to ask for a bigger vehicle. They did give me one but that meant I had to go back to the dealership to pick it up. Unfortunately, my warranty is only covered by work at this establishment. This means I had to take the truck back on Thursday of this week to get service done. Even though they knew that I have a big family, I was still put into a Fusion and told the car would be ready ASAP. Thursday they called to tell me that it needed to stay until Friday. I just called and they told me the truck now needs to stay until Monday!! I am left with a car that can't fit my family (I guess I will just tell my 3 year old to stay home alone when I run errands this weekend) AND I had to call them to get this information. It is 3 pm and they close at 5 pm. I am not sure when they were going to call to tell me this. I will never return. Overall, they have no urgency with getting the vehicle back to the owner. Was told the part had been there. So I scheduled an appointment and this was another week waiting. While the vehicle was there I asked for another issue to be checked but they never checked it. Finally got my car in and they kept it over night without calling me to let me know. The next day I called and still no update. Finally got it fixed two days later and they tell me we fixed the problem but now your battery has a bad cell. Lol really and it's my Fault. If it wasn't a rule that I had to use then because of warranty purposes I would never go back. And I'm still waiting to have the second part fixed because they missed that memo of me requesting that issue being resolved also. Im about a month into this entire ordeal. More
