He was gracious and patient in fully explaining the operation of the vehicle and all its features to our daughters, who are first-time car owners. Both Vinnie and Carl restored our comfort and goodwill with this dealership, with which we hadn't dealt for close to 18 years. I saw a used Subaru on the lot that I liked. I was with my daughter. I went into the dealership and saw Sandy Barton who asked me a few questions, and I said that I wanted to test drive the car. He immediately got plates and handed me the keys, and we went for a drive. Sandy was not at all pushy, and sat in the back of the car as I drove and thoroughly explained the car. He encouraged me to make different turns, vary speeds and go up and down a hill to get a real feel of the car. ( I had researched this make and model and I was impressed at the mileage, condition and price of the car). We entered the dealership after the test drive, and again, Sandy as relaxed as could be, explained the next steps if I was interested, and I said that I wanted my mechanic to look at the car. We set that up. My mechanic liked the car, and I went back and through a series of phone calls set up the next steps. Everything went smoothly at the dealership. When sitting down with Chris, who did our paperwork, we felt he was engaging, showed an interest in us, and we felt he cared about his job and how he presented the dealership to us. I haven’t bought many cars, but I’ve done my research for the few I have purchased. I decided to by a Jeep Wrangler Monday morning and contacted about 15 dealerships in the tri-state area. One of them was the few I have purchased. I decided to by a Jeep Wrangler Monday morning and contacted about 15 dealerships in the tri-state area. One of them was Croton Auto Park, as per the recommendation of a colleague who bought a Wrangler there as well. He said “Call up Croton, they are a NO xx dealer, I walked in got the deal I wanted and drove out with my truck”. With the help of Vinny, My Wrangler went from thought to signed contract in less than 24 hours. I will admit that I had my doubts up until the very last minute. Even after I drove off the lot with my new truck, I still couldn’t believe it worked out so smoothly. I was in sales for many years and I’m aware of all the games and gimmicks that some sales associates play, but not Vinny. He stood out from the first email. Vinny was the only dealer to keep in touch with me and follow up even though I wasn’t looking to buy a high ticket item (Base Wrangler with 24S package). Unfortunately many sales associates are hesitant to work with you when they feel you know more about the car than they do and that they won’t be getting a hefty commission. Dealers should learn from Croton AP and Vinny. When someone contacts you over the internet, it means something. It means, “I can’t talk on the phone”, all other dealers I contacted through the chat feature of their site asked me to call them. I wanted to smack them in the face over the internet for being so dumb. If I wanted to call you, im not blind, I can read the huge 800 number above the “click here to chat” button. I digress, I have to say everyone, and I mean everyone from sales to management to service & parts at Croton AP are nice, caring and polite. Words cannot describe how easy and stress free my transaction was. Even after buying the truck and deciding to add a remote start to it, everyone was still kind and caring, unlike some dealers who forget who you are after you sign the dotted line.
