Extremely Disappointed with My Experience at Damerow Ford I came into Damerow Ford in May 2025 as a loyal Ford customer, trading in my well-maintained 2018 Explorer for a 2023 model with the belief I Ford I came into Damerow Ford in May 2025 as a loyal Ford customer, trading in my well-maintained 2018 Explorer for a 2023 model with the belief I was upgrading to a reliable vehicle. What I experienced instead was months of frustration, poor communication, and ongoing mechanical issues that turned a hopeful purchase into a nightmare. From day one, I reported a knocking noise and other cosmetic defects. I was told it was a minor issue—a loose plastic shield—and it would be an easy fix. That "easy fix" turned into more than three months of back-and-forth, multiple service visits, escalating repairs, and what I was later told was a complete front-end replacement. My vehicle spent more time in the shop than in my driveway. Despite my patience and repeated attempts to work through the proper channels, I was met with delays, unreturned calls, unclear updates, and ongoing mechanical failures. Even after finally getting the car back in late September, the knocking noise persisted. I hoped the dealership would do the right thing and offer a fair trade given the circumstances. Instead, I was told I would have to absorb $3,300 in depreciation plus lose the $800 I got for my original trade-in—even though the vehicle’s issues were present from day one and worsened over time. I was offered only $30,500 for a car I barely drove, and only if I agreed to trade that same day. This was not a customer-caused issue. It was a vehicle that should never have been sold in that condition. I’ve now lost over $4,200 due to a misdiagnosed defect that Ford should have caught in its inspection process. While a few individuals did try to help along the way, the dealership as a whole failed to take responsibility. I walked away extremely disappointed, feeling let down by a brand and dealership I once trusted. I sincerely hope no other customer has to go through what I did. More
Don’t believe what they say. I leased a Mach-E based primarily on the Ford promotion that I’d get a charger installed at my home. I discussed this with the salesman and the fin I leased a Mach-E based primarily on the Ford promotion that I’d get a charger installed at my home. I discussed this with the salesman and the finance person and the salesman actually came to me during the price negotiation to confirm that I wanted the charger installed vs a $500 credit. I discussed with the finance person that I was looking now because of that incentive. Turns out, there was a small print signed the $500 credit, I thought I was signed that I wanted the charger install. As I left the dealer I asked about the arrangement for the install, the finance person said I’d hear from Ford about it. Didn’t hear anything for three months, went in yesterday and it turned out they did a bait and switch and gave me a $500 credit instead of the charger install. Don’t trust these guys, I discussed this three different times during the transaction including as I was exiting the deal and they bait and switched me. Don’t trust their word, they are completely disingenuous! More
I got a car from them a few years ago and everything went well. When I just recently went back to trade my car in for a bigger car I went in 4 times with no results. The last time they had me sign a deal for well. When I just recently went back to trade my car in for a bigger car I went in 4 times with no results. The last time they had me sign a deal for a car I didnt even get to test drive. I made a down payment on it, then they told me the car didnt pass inspection so the deal fell through and now THEY WONT GIVE MY DEPOSIT BACK. Bad business as they kept trying to sell and push cars that I clearly stated I did not want. They also sent out loan applications for cars I didnt want which I had to take a hit on my credit. Would not recomend this dealership unless you can pay in full. More
My experience started out great. I worked with James and looking for a specific used car. He found the car that I was looking and the price was within my budget. When looking at I worked with James and looking for a specific used car. He found the car that I was looking and the price was within my budget. When looking at the car, there was a chip in the windshield. James told me that they would either replace the windshield or fix the chip in the windshield. James said that it would be something that after I vehicle they would set something up with their shop to get it replaced or repaired. Unfortunately, during the time that you are signing a ton of documents, I signed one that said “ sold as is” I had called James and him about that, and he said he would get that fixed because he does recall him telling me that that would get taken care of. He said he would need to talk to his manager and get back to me. I waited a week without him getting back to. I got in touch with him again. He said sorry he has a new manager that he has to explain and that he would get back to me. he never got back to me. I tried this four times without him ever getting back to me with a solution. that is extremely disappointing. It really leaves a bad taste in my mouth when somebody does not honor what they say they’re going to do. oh, and now with the cold weather that Chip has turned into a full-blown crack across the windshield. We came to Damerow Ford after I went to another Ford dealership, when I informed the salesman at the other dealership that I wanted the V-8 Coyote motor in an F150 - he stopped me and debated my decisio dealership, when I informed the salesman at the other dealership that I wanted the V-8 Coyote motor in an F150 - he stopped me and debated my decision for a good 15 minutes! At that point I knew I was not purchasing from the other dealership, having been in vehicle sales myself - I was always told ‘the customer is always right’; obviously this was only true if your purchasing thoughts line up with what they had at the dealership! We bought both a 2024 F150 XLT and a 2024 GT Premium Mustang: California Special. First I worked with Josh Sharpe, the guy was absolutely brilliant and awesome with his ability to make me feel comfortable in finding the right F150. Then he drove me home to show my wife a GT Mustang (although the car was wonderful, due to a recall - we couldn’t buy it) which she absolutely loved. Then General Manager Brian Ronstadt did an excellent job helping bring the Mustang from Southern California to Portland. We will take delivery next week! I can not say enough about these gentlemen; they did everything in their power to get the deals done and Brian gave us a beautiful loner Mustang GT Premium until the GT/CS arrives in town. To top it off, we get free gas on Brian’s (and Damerow’s) dime while we wait for that awesome Ford product from California (pun intended). Thanks Brian and Josh for getting everything right, we will be back the next time we’re ready to buy! More
Brought my car in for service. Service went well, but I found out that their system automatically sends your information to the sales department. While waiting for news on my car, Service went well, but I found out that their system automatically sends your information to the sales department. While waiting for news on my car, sales texted me to ask if I wanted to trade in my car for something "newer and nicer." If I wanted to sell my car, I would have contacted SALES and not SERVICE. So shady. When I complained to the service department, they confirmed that the system gave my information to sales, and that I was not the only service customer to complain. More
