Used vehicle purchase When it comes to a used car, you go to the dealership that has what you are looking for. Unfortunately, Dave Smith Ford was that dealership for me. When it comes to a used car, you go to the dealership that has what you are looking for. Unfortunately, Dave Smith Ford was that dealership for me. I test drove a vehicle on Tuesday and then received multiple emails from the dealership and even phone calls on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I went to look at another vehicle Saturday but wasn't quite what I was looking for. So I talked to the dealer at Dave Smith Ford and decided to go back and show my husband the vehicle they had. When we got to Dave Smith Ford, my vehicle had been sold that morning! Are you kidding me! I talked to the dealer at Dave Smith Ford three different times on the phone and twice via email on Saturday! He didn't even know the vehicle he was trying to sell me was already sold! Needless to say I was really disappointed! Luckily I looked on their website to see other used vehicles in the style I wanted and found another one. I asked the dealer to come back with the best price possible and all he did was show me a print out of the sale price minus my trade in plus taxes. I asked for scratches to be buffed out before I made the deal. When I asked the dealer when I picked up the vehicle if they even tried to buff out the scratches he said they tried but couldn't get them out. That is highly unlikely since they looked the exact same as when I test drove the car. For a car dealership with a collision service shop on premises, that is very disappointing. I should have known the service wasn't going to be great when they let me test drive three vehicles with less then 10 miles until empty. I asked the dealer if we should put gas in the one vehicle because there was only 5 miles until empty and he said you should be fine because the test route they make you take is only 3 miles. Yes- you can only drive around the block on their designated route! So when he told me when I bought the vehicle that they only give you a half a tank of gas, I shouldn't have been surprised! I just gave you guys $20,000 and you can't even give me a full tank of gas!? Don't expect any free services with your vehicle purchase, like an inspection or oil change because Dave a Smith Ford doesn't do any of that! I may like my vehicle but I don't have to like the place that I bought it from. More
