Pressuring your customers in not an acceptable business practice. You should be there to help them and guide them but not force them into something. That is what it felt like to me. Then for him tell tell me I would tax issues if I sold my vehicle out right instead of trading it in to you, I know that is a lie because I work in a titling office. Your salesman was pushing, forceful, lied and was not knowledgable about the vehicle.

Is there any more information you can provide us with like the vehicle that you were looking at, your name or anything that would help us identify this transaction so we can address this issue. I was looking at the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder the first weekend in August. When Gaylord went back to the finance manager and came back with the finance manager the first thing he asked was did I upset you or something. This was after I had asked for my key back twice. I told him also that I wanted my key back and instead he changed the subject. I do not recall the finance managers name, he was younger. But it felt like they did not care about what I had to say and only about the sale and what they could get from me.

Not a problem at all and thanks again for your feedback. Also not that it matters but I thought that I would try to explain on paper how the sales tax works in regards to what it sounds like Gaylord was trying to tell you but not very effectively. The State of Kansas charges sales tax on vehicle purchases. They only charge sales tax on the trade difference. The reason why they do that is because when you are trading in something you have already paid the tax on it when you originally purchased it. If you don’t trade anything you haven’t paid tax on any portion of the new purchase. The numbers would be like this. Purchase price of vehicle $10,000 Trade in value $5,000 gives trade difference of $5,000. The trade difference of $5,000 is what the state would tax at the 7.5%. So your tax liability to the state would be $375. The other way is Purchase price of vehicle $10,000 no Trade in $0 gives trade difference of $10,000. The trade difference of $10,000 is what the state would tax at the 7.5%. So your tax liability to the state would be $750. This is usually how we try to explain it to a customer. I know that it can be tough to understand when first explained especially if it has not been written out in front of you. Once again we do apologize for the issues that we had on this experience with you and would love to try and earn your business back in the future when you have another automotive need whether it is Sales, Service, or Parts. Also if we do get a 2nd chance to earn your business and do it with 100% satisfaction we would be grateful if you could do an updated review. Thanks again
