After making trips to several other dealerships around Houston, Clear Lake was where the 2015 Mazda CX-5 we wanted was located. The staff could not have been nicer. No pressure. No pre-negotiation, time-consuming silly chit-chat. We got a very fair price and even though it was a holiday weekend and they were very busy, the deal was done quickly and professionally. Highly recommend this dealership for a no-nonsense car buying experience with knowledgable, courteous staff. More

Our needs vs dealership needs Drove many SUVs and the CX 9 remained one of our top 2 choices. In the end, went with our other option. But the staff was far and away more than I expected from the typical "car dealer". We did several test drives to get "real world" feel of the CX 9, including them driving while we were passengers in the other seats. Loved the handling, the seats, the acceleration; felt more like I was driving a car than an SUV. Even though we did not end up going forward with the CX9, the fact that they treated us like that: no pressures/etc, as well as no "we did all this and don't earn your business" type statements, earned my confidence that when it's time for my next vehicle, I'll be over there trying the Mazda 6 next. I was overcharged $9030.00!!! I bought a new 2015 Mazda3 i touring 4-door on 07/08/2015 from Mazda Of ClearLake. The quote for the car was $18,055.00 on 7/01/2015. (attached docu I bought a new 2015 Mazda3 i touring 4-door on 07/08/2015 from Mazda Of ClearLake. The quote for the car was $18,055.00 on 7/01/2015. (attached document) I was putting $6000 cash down. While signing final finance papers with Aaron Winfrey he showed me 3 additional packages and 1 of them included a clear coat to protect my paint and upholstery. I said I wanted the clear coat but didn't want my payment to go up, he said "let me see what I can do", he changed some things on my contract so I could get it and he lowered my payment a few dollars! I was elated and asked him how he did that he said he lowered my interest rate. When I looked at the contract I noticed there were extra coverages, I asked him if they were the package with clear coat and he said "yes". I signed the contract assuming the cost of the car was the same as they had originally quoted me. When I got home and looked closely at the contract the numbers didn't add up and I didn't understand what some of them were, so when I went in to give them my down payment and get my clear coat, they told me the clear coat was already on the car that it goes on every car before it gets sold and that I was just buying a warranty on it! They never said I was buying an extended warranty for the car. (attached document). My salesman Kenneth Froisy also stated that when I come in for clear coat my car will be detailed again. They all implied that Clear coat was an add-on feature that I would pay for! Also when I was paying my down payment I asked Nathan, (the sales manager) what the Total Sales Price figure of $32,323.00 was. He said it was a total of the 4 figures before it, and it didn't mean anything he didn't know why they even put it on the contract. Nathan kept telling me that I only financed 20,696.67. Implying thats what I paid for the car. I realized that $32,323.00 is what I really paid for this car (including $4631.35 for 3 optional insurance packages I didn’t know I was buying). I reminded him that I also paid a $6000 down payment plus they gave me a $2000 rebate which totaled $28,696.67. He said that's just what I'll pay at the end of my loan with financing, he never said that that included the extra insurance and warranty's, implying that all that extra money was finance charges. The next day July 16,2015 I left messages for Aaron Winfrey and Kenny Froisy letting them know I found major discrepancies in my contract and would like them to be explained. No one called. I left messages for Aaron Winfrey on July 20 and 21 with no return call. Then I left a voice mail message with Cece (assistant general manager) on July 21 as well. Aaron Winfrey returned my call that day. He said they would remove the extra insurance packages totaling $4,631.35 but then they would raise my interest rate to the original 9.89% and my payment would be higher, (The copy of the "Basic Plan” states “Purchase of any product does not influence interest rate or approval”) and they never called it an extended warranty, It was called “The Basic Plan”. I said I needed to think about it and would get back to him. I called him the next morning and was told he wouldn't be in till noon so I left a message with Alley (the receptionist). Nathan called me that day July 22,2015, he told me to watch what I say because every phone conversation was recorded. I told him I wanted the contract rescinded to reflect the quoted purchase price of $18,055.00 (they also raised that to $23,732.38 including TT&L) and to cancel the insurance coverages I didn't want or know I was buying, (Extended Warranty $2,499, Life and Credit disability $1,333.35, and Debt Cancellation Agreement $799 totaling $4631.35). He said at 12:09 pm July 23 he would email me paperwork to cancel extra Insurance coverages but my payment would remain the same and the credit minus cancellation fee would be put on the end of my loan. It's 1:06 on July 24 and I haven't received the forms. I spoke to Nathan again at 12:30p on July 27,2015, gave him my email address again and he said he would email me paperwork to cancel all 3 warranty’s and insurance policies, still didn’t receive them. I spoke with Kenny Froisy on July 29,2015, and explained I was still waiting on cancellation papers and wanted to speak with Aaron or Nathan (finance managers). He told me both men were busy. I asked for email addresses for Duane (General Manager), Cece his assistant and Nathan ( finance manager) and was told all business cards were in their offices and he couldn’t get into them because there were customers in them. On July 31,2015 I received by email the paperwork to cancel 2 of the added insurance packages. I replied "Thank you for sending me paperwork, I also wanted to cancel Life and Credit Disability insurance. And will there be a new contract? Will interest rate be the same? Will you email me a copy of new sales contract if there is one?” It’s Aug 3 2015 and haven’t received a reply. I called again on August 13,2015 and left a message for Cece, the assistant general manager to call me. It’s August 19, 2015, and still haven’t heard from her. THE BOTTOM LINE IS: THIS CAR WAS PRICED AT $18,055.00, MY FINANCE PAPER SAYS I PAID $23,732.00 INCLUDING TAX, TITLE AND LICENSE.THATS A DIFFERENCE OF $4,399.00! PLUS THEY ADDED $4,631.00 IN ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL COVERAGES, CALLING THEM “THE PACKAGE WITH THE CLEAR COAT” THATS $9030.00 IN ADDED CHARGES THEY DIDN’T DISCLOSE! At this point I would like my money back, I’m also supposed to have free oil changes for life, but am now not comfortable going there for anything. I'll return the car, and buy one elsewhere. I'm afraid of ever having to deal with dealership again and would like to return the car for a full refund. Kimberly Febres-Cordero More

Kenny really worked with me allowing me test rides on several vehicles to help me decide on the right car for me. He is very knowledgeable about Mazda cars and was able to show me some features that I might otherwise not realize existed. This dealership allowed me an "Extended Test Drive" of a new 2015 Mazda 3 Hatchback S Grand Touring which I ultimately ended up buying yesterday. However, it didn't take me 3 days for me to determine that this particular car was right for me! This dealership honored their advertised discounted price of the car and overall, I was very impressed with the overall transaction. I definitely recommend this dealership as they are very professional, straightforward and honest! Thank you Kenny for a job well done! More
