A Desert Toyota Cautionary Tale: my old Toyota 4-Runner recently had its power-brake booster fail, and so I had it towed to Desert Toyota for service. After inspection, they informed me that the price for recently had its power-brake booster fail, and so I had it towed to Desert Toyota for service. After inspection, they informed me that the price for repair would be about $2000! This exorbitant amount was mostly due to the price they were charging for the part, over $1400. I said I was not willing to pay that much and asked if they could do the repair with an after-market, non-Toyota, part. They told me they could, but would not warranty the work in that case. I opted for that solution, since my vehicle was not safe to drive anywhere else. Well, their Parts Department "managed" to find me an after-market part for $778, a little more than half of the jacked-up price of the genuine Toyota part. I was not happy, but was pressed to get the vehicle fixed, and so had the repair completed with this less-exorbitantly priced part. I'm now very remorseful: a quick call to a nearby autoparts store found multiple boosters for my vehicle in stock at $379.99 each. Also, after a closer examination of my bill, I discovered that Desert Toyota charges a "credit card transaction fee," which in this case amounted to $30. I was never informed that I was being charged a fee to use my credit card, and if I had been, I would have made other arrangements. And on top of all of that, my bill included an hour of labor for replacing the master brake cylinder -- the master brake cylinder must be removed to replace the brake booster, and so no additional labor is required. I challenged this part of my bill and the hour's worth of labor was removed, but why do I have to have a little knowledge about vehicles to keep from being overcharged? I've been a Desert Toyota customer for over a decade, and have now concluded that I've been too trusting, and that, this last time at least, I was taken advantage of. Bottom line: anyone should be very watchful if they decide to do business with Desert Toyota. More
I have bought 2 brand new corrollas from desert Toyota. My 2017 corrolla, and then my current 2020 after the first was totaled. On Sunday at 6am I eviscerated my tire on my way in to work. When I went to p My 2017 corrolla, and then my current 2020 after the first was totaled. On Sunday at 6am I eviscerated my tire on my way in to work. When I went to pull out the spare it was missing! I also didn't have a jack. So I'm on the side of the highway with no way to fix my vehicle. It did have a tire repair kit but my tire was far beyond a flat. I brought it to th attention of desert Toyota and they told me they could order me a new tire and jack for a bout $500. Which i thought was included with my $25000 purchase. They also said to use my repair kit which once again was useless in this situation. Safety is my 100% concern especially when my wife also drives this car. They just didn't seemed concerned about it. What if I didn't have service to call my wife to help? Very disappointed. They should make it explicitly clear to their costumers that the vehicles they selling brand new don't include the spare tire and jack that almost everyone has come to expect for emergency situations when you need it the most. I have a new 2021 RAV4 purchased in California, but I am going to be living in Tucson. I have been in twice with a potential warrantee issue. Both times, I have been put off and placed in an appointment wit going to be living in Tucson. I have been in twice with a potential warrantee issue. Both times, I have been put off and placed in an appointment with a long waiting time for attention for the potentially unsafe conditions. Both times the service people were surely and offered no real advice as to how I might quickly solve the problem. No one was interested in helping me navigate the console. Since there are two dealers in Tucson, I will be doing all of my service with Precision Toyota for the foreseeable future. My experience with Precision Toyota has been exemplary and would recommend that dealership far above and beyond Desert Toyota. More

Me and my husband went down to Desert Toyota to buy a car. I was so excited to pick out our new car. We purchased a 2018 Toyota Corolla SE certified with 20000 miles on it. We have the car a couple days and someone called and said come down to the dealership we have a surprise for you. And I was thinking a free oil change for a $25 gift card to their gift shop some kind of nice surprise. So I gave myself about 15-20 minutes to spend there before I had to go to work and the finance guy Tyler told me that after I was approved earlier in the week now we have to put another $1,000 down and our monthly payment was going to go up a lot. I told him this is my surprise? And I was upset then he sat down and went over the loan stuff and I got approved just me. Then I let Kendra know that I had a ripped bumper and her and Yohan looked at the car and I had to leave and they said they were going to give me a call and never did so then I called the following Monday and talk to Yohan and he told me there's nothing he can do because that's the way the bumper comes from the factory. When by my bumper is clearly ripped and does not come out of the factory like that. So Yohan told me he's going to give me a free tank of gas Instead of fixing my car. After arguing with him for a while I just told him I was going to talk to his manager . So I talked to Kendra the customer service rep. And she said bring your car down to Toyota. Let's schedule a time and day for your car to get looked at. So we set it up for today Saturday the 10th of October at 2 p.m. when we get there it's her day off and nobody knows what we're talking about talk about bad customer service. I would recommend shopping around and pay super close attention to the vehicle you buy because if it's certified like mine you shouldn't have to check it out but definitely do because you might have a rip bumper this is the worst experience I've ever had buying a car and will never go back to Desert Toyota ever again. In my discussion with him and Martin I decided I wanted to buy instead of lease next year. I am very happy with the 2019 Corolla that I have purchased, for all the assistance in decision making I received from Quincey and Martin and Casey was very helpful in setting me up with my brand new car. The entire process went smoothly and I am fully satisfied. More

The spare tire mec Bought used 2008 Toyota Tacoma a few weeks ago. They stressed how they do extensive safety inspections before they sell a used car. The spare tire mechanism is broken. They forgot to emission test the vehicle before they sold it so now they can't get a title or register the car. Had to bring it back so they can fix their mistakes and now they are giving me attitude. I'm sitting in the service center waiting room and there are over 20 people here. I thought Toyotas were so reliable..... More
