Competent Mechanics The service people here have an annoying practice of begging the customer to give them all "10" ratings. I find that pathetic and instead give an honest appraisal. In the most recent visit, the service rep came across as not being very well informed. For example, he couldn't give me either a time or a cost estimate. His explanations as to why the part broke sounded rather lame. This service department will charge $125-150 just to troubleshoot your car's problems. Now I can see if you just say thanks and go to your local car shop why they could justify charging you. But if you then authorize them to do the repair, how do they justify charging you for identifying the problem? After all, they got your business. The older people out there may remember when the practice was "no charge for the troubleshooting if you get your car repaired here." More
