No Hassle Experience Went into the dealership, after spending a considerable amount of time at a different dealer, and I only wanted to look at one car in particular. I w Went into the dealership, after spending a considerable amount of time at a different dealer, and I only wanted to look at one car in particular. I was directed towards Tim, who was extremely nice, and he actually listened to what I was saying. He didn't try to push me towards a different model, or another car with a high option package. I went in with a certain budget in mind, and a particular model. Tim quickly arranged a test drive and we were sold on the car in less than 20 min. Did all of the paper work, wrote the check and we left very happy customers. Extremely happy with the level of service of all of the staff, as well as the easy buying experience. More

Went in to replace my low beams, both went out. Anthony determined that the front bumper had to be removed! He kept me informed and his estimate was $1200, but later ended up $800. He said he saved Anthony determined that the front bumper had to be removed! He kept me informed and his estimate was $1200, but later ended up $800. He said he saved me some money - I guess he did. He was "with a customer" when I picked up the car - I guess I am not really a customer. He seemed overworked and is hard to get a hold of because he is always with a customer. I sent him an email, replied with the original emailed estimate, to save the old headlamp fixture and give it to me. I did not happen. Still would like to get the fixture since I save these things for garden art. Service was pretty much as expected; as has been at previous times; and calling the "service guy" is difficult as it has been in the past. Of course the dealer (you guys) never has the parts so I always have to wait a day or two. So pretty much par for the course - satisfied yes but never completely satisfied since that is impossible. Your entire operation is one big mess esp. with the construction -you are selling a lot of cars why not get some more room. You have a lot of folks just shuttling cars around what does that cost? I understand you have no local competition but really? More

Dealer will not service vehicles with supplemental brakes. First let me say that this review is not directed at Subaru vehicles. I have owned two Subaru "Outback" models. My first "Outback" was a 2005 model that I drove for over 140,000 miles. My second "Outback" is a 2012 model that has over 64,000 miles. Both vehicles have been outstanding vehicles with only minimal service requirements. Both of these vehicles were purchased from Diablo Subaru of Walnut Creek. The 2012 "Outback" was specifically purchased as a "tow" vehicle for my motorhome. The vehicle is a manual transmission model. The owners manual specifically states that the vehicle can be 'flat towed'. The California Vehicle Code requires that vehicles that are towed must have a supplemental brake system that acts in conjunction with the "tow" vehicle. My vehicle has such a supplemental brake system. In September my "Outback" experienced a 'dead battery'. The dead battery caused fault codes to appear in the dashboard display. The vehicle was taken to Diablo Subaru where they attempted to clear the codes without success. They first said that a failure to clear the codes was an indication that the Anti-Lock Brake System had failed. They said that this would be an expensive repair. However, they also said that they would not work on my vehicle because of the supplemental brake system. After a safety check at another local mechanics shop, my 2012 Outback was taken to Livermore Subaru. The service manager at Livermore Subaru had one of his technicians clear the fault codes from the dead battery in less than ten minutes and there was no charge for the service. November of this year I received a "Recall Notice" advising replacement of the windshield wiper motor. I made an appointment at Diablo Subaru for the recall work. When I arrived the service writer, Eric Holmstedt, was informed about my previous experience with Diablo Subaru regarding the supplemental brake system. He said there should be no problem since the brakes and the wiper motor were not related. He said that the car should be repaired by 12 noon but would like to keep the car until 2 pm because of a heavy work load. He said he would call when it was done. Noon time arrived and there was no call. Two o'clock and there was no call. At 3:40 PM I called to ask about the status of my car. Eric was not available and the operator put me on hold to look for the service manager. I was on hold for over ten minutes when I finally gave up, hung up and got a ride from my home to Diablo Subaru. When I arrived my car was sitting in the service yard. I spoke with Eric and he apologized that had not had time to call me. He also informed me that his service technician had REFUSED TO WORK on my car. He said the service technician told him the tow bar was bolted to the frame and prevented him from working on the wiper motor. THIS WAS BLATANTLY FALSE !!! The supplemental brake system has a small aluminum support bracket held to the firewall by three small number 8 machine screws. Any child could take out the three screws with a screw driver in less than one minute. Diablo Subaru was once owned by a very "Customer Friendly" family. The dealership was recently sold to another company. This new company has a philosophy that works on a mindless, assembly line mentality and does not allow mechanics to think about how to repair a vehicle or a damaged part when confronted with something out of the ordinary. A part that can be repaired is replaced in its' entirety resulting in VERY EXPENSIVE repairs for the consumer. If you use your Subaru with your motorhome, don't even think about going to Diablo Subaru. If you want good service for your Subaru at a reasonable price, try Walnut Creek Transmission. I am a Licensed General Engineering Contractor who has worked on all types of heavy equipment, large and small gas and diesel engines. I have a good sense from many years of experience about the quality of mechanics. Diablo Subaru is a place to avoid. More

Larry Peterson made my car buying experience great In my recent car shopping I visited quite a few dealerships including another Subaru dealership, but early in my first conversation with salesman Larr In my recent car shopping I visited quite a few dealerships including another Subaru dealership, but early in my first conversation with salesman Larry Peterson, I was confident that he would work with me at the price and terms I needed. We didn't find the trim and option recipe I wanted on the lot so we ordered it, and that went quite smooth and my gorgeous car arrived about 10 days early. It's nice to be heard, respected and accommodated. Matt the finance guy was great too, remembering to explain everything carefully since he's done this hundreds of times and I do it every 7 years or so. More
