Horrible Experience Dealing with Liars I am making an account just so I can post how horrible of an experience I had at this dealership. They would not honor any incentives that they told m I am making an account just so I can post how horrible of an experience I had at this dealership. They would not honor any incentives that they told me I was qualified and approved for before I went in. DO NOT WASTE YOU'RE TIME GOING HERE. Here's my story: I found a 2015 Accord on Autotrader that led me to Diamond Valley Honda. I got in touch with Veronica from the internet department to go over all of the incentives and prices before making the trip to purchase. First we talked about trade-in incentives and she said that my car was qualified to receive a trade-in bonus of $1500 in addition to the blue book value. We then talked about financing and they ran my credit and told me a manager approved me for 1.9% interest rate. Lastly she also told me what documents I need to bring so I can qualify for the College Grad $500 discount offered through Honda when financing a car through them. After getting all of this information and making sure everything was approved, I drove 5 hours to the dealership to make the deal. When I arrived at Honda I was greeted by a salesman named Alex. Alex was great, he showed me all the features of the car, took me for a test drive and got all the paperwork started to make the deal. I showed Alex the Autotrader advertisement that Veronica told me to bring and he went to get the manager Paul to run my credit and run the numbers for the car. This is when things went downhill. Paul came back to me with the price sheet that honored the Autotrader price, but ADDED $1920(!!!) in options that COULD NOT BE REMOVED. It also did not include the $1500 trade in bonus that I was told my car qualified for, and did not show the interest rate. Because the monthly payment seemed much higher than what it should have been, I started asking questions about how the payment got to be so high. He said that my interest rate was a "standard interest rate" but would did not tell me the number, I had to ask again what the rate was before he told me it was 4.9%, and also there was a warranty added for $2450 that COULD NOT BE REMOVED. He also said that the Autotrader price included my college grad discount (This was a LIE). I told Paul about the 1.9% interest rate, the $500 college grad program and trade-in bonus and he asked to see the emails and show them to the manager. He came back saying that they WOULD NOT HONOR THE INCENTIVES THAT I WAS TOLD I WAS APPROVED AND QUALIFIED FOR BY A MANAGER. This made the car almost $5,000 (before taxes) more expensive than I was told, and my interest rate was 3% higher than I was told. After declining the deal, Paul came back to me with a new offer and that the general manager would give me $500 more for my trade-in. I asked to speak with the manager that he was going to with all of this information, he would not let me speak to him and said that I would be working with him. We went back and forth for awhile before we decided a deal was not going to happen and he went to get the keys to my car. He came back with my keys and two different options for a final offer, one that took out the warranty which he said could not be removed, and gave me a small bonus for my trade-in and gave me my college grad discount, but still included the 4.9% interest rate and additional price of the options, the other offer was at the lower 1.9% interest rate which he said I could not get earlier and that it was not through Honda (who else would it be through???). I ended up declining both those offers and went to my car to leave when the general manager (who I had asked to talk to earlier) came out to talk to me. He made one last offer but it still did not honor what Veronica told me I was approved and qualified for and still added options I could not remove so I finally left. In the end, I drove over 5 hours there, was at the dealership for over 3 hours and then drove over 5 hours back all for nothing because they would not honor what they told me over email. If they would have honored the trade-in bonus, interest rate, and college grad discount they told me I was qualified for I would have bought the car at the price listed no questions. It ended up costing me $100 in gas and over 13 hours for nothing. More
untrustworthy, unreliable & uncaring. They never called back. I had to keep calling them. Finally they responded and said they could not find it. I asked them to give me another key fob and they again ignored my emails and calls. I had to go to another dealer and spend several hundred dollars for a new key and remote fob. Second, regarding the license plates...being new to California I was not familiar to the DMV system and I was told by Diamond Valley Honda that the plates would be mailed to me and it is OK to drive around with no plates as long as I had a temporary sticker on the window. After many months the plates never arrived so I assumed they were stolen from the mail. After filing a police report etc. I applied for new plates. When the new plates arrived weeks later I removed the Diamond Valley Paper advertisement plates to install the new plates, low and behold, the original plates were already on the car hidden by their advertisement plates. How idiotic was it for the dealer to cover up the plates and inform me that the plates would be sent via mail??? Needless to say, they do not have it together and I will never go back there again. All of the personnel that we were involv I found that working with Diamond Valley Honda on the purchase of our 2014 Honda Accord to be very pleasing. All of the personnel that we were involved with was well informed of the product and their job category of the transaction. The only downfall was when the General Manager called me to inform me that we would be having this survey and stated: "When you rate us it is important to know that anything other then a Excellent Rating is considered a failure and that he would appreciate an Excellent Rating". I take that as trying to persuade my view of my experience with Diamond Valley Honda during my transaction. I believe it far more important for the customer to feel comfortable about giving his "HONEST" evaluation then to have an excellent rating. Every person and business always has room to improve, no mater how through they believe they are. Recommendations: 1. Every vehicle sold, both new and used, should have a full tank of gas when the customer takes possession of the vehicle. 2. When the customer is being brought into the showroom to begin the transaction process, they should feel very welcomed to the agency by informing then where the restrooms are located, should they need to use them, offered some nourishment such as water, soda, coffee, and maybe even a donut or muffin. Those gratuities are very cheap when you consider the expense of the purchase of a vehicle and can be claimed as part of the customer service services the agency charges on every vehicle without the customer knowing. 3. The finance department should always provide at least three different financing options showing the most expensive to the customer first and finishing with the best option for the customer. This method bills trust between the agent and the customer by showing the the dealership is looking out for the customer's greater interest and not show greed. 4. Salesmanship: Our salesman, Eric Alpuche, is a friendly and personable salesman. He is well informed of the product and presents the information about the car very clearly. The only thing I would add to the training of all sales personnel would be for them to inform the potential customer in the beginning that when they show you a feature on a vehicle they will take a few steps away from the customer (when more then one customer) to allow them to discuss the feature shown semi-privately before going to the next feature. This would allow the potential customer to feel more welcomed and less pressured on the purchase of a vehicle. I am very sorry if I have offended anyone with my comments, but as I said before, everyone has room for improvement, including Diamond Valley Honda, and they should be thankful for HONEST opinions without pressure from their customers. I have always learned more from my mistakes then I have from my successes so being informed of the honest negatives is far more valuable to me. I wish you all a good day, Thank You again for all that your dealership has done for us, and may GOD Bless you all and have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. More

They did warranty work even though our notice had come out in 2009i for a cracked block. We had extra worked done. When we went to pay, I mentioned that they used to give a senior discount. They then redid our bill to reflect the discount. (They only do that if you ask for it.) We left feeling very happy and blessed! Thank you, Diamond Valley Honda!!! More
