Sold us a defective vehicle. Salesman promised to "make it right" if anything was wrong with the vehicle, and service department made it worse. After bringing the vehicle home, we noticed a burning rubber/oil smell being blown into the cabin, as well as a clunking noise when turning corners, also 6 active recalls on the vehicle. This would end up turning into our vehicle being in Nissan service department for almost a month. They tried to tell us the burning oil smell was from a service tech spilling oil while doing an oil change. After returning the car to service twice, they finally figured out it was a cracked head gasket. They also said they tightened something to fix the clunking noise. The clunking noise was not fixed so we returned it to service. Service determined the problem was a cracked axle, and tried to charge us for the repair. After having a somewhat heated discussion with the salesman, they agreed to cover partial cost. They replaced the axle, and we were told everything was good to go. Upon driving it out of the parking lot, there was a severe grinding noise. We decided to just take our car over to Hyundai where they determined that the bearings were shot. Hyundai also serviced all 6 recalls while the vehicle was there. We do not trust the service department at Nissan anymore. Hopefully now our vehicle is fixed after having to shell out more money for it right after purchase, and not even being able to drive this vehcile for the first month of ownership. Given our negative experience with Don Davis Nissan, we will not be returning to purchase another vehicle, or to have our vehicles serviced there. This vehicle clearly went straight from trade in or auction, to a poor detailing service, to sale lot. Probably would have had better luck with a dealership on Division Street. More
