Mixed feelings Together, my husband and I have mixed feelings about Toyota of Katy. We live in San Antonio and we’re driving in to see a 2006 4Runner. The lady we Together, my husband and I have mixed feelings about Toyota of Katy. We live in San Antonio and we’re driving in to see a 2006 4Runner. The lady we talked with on the phone was very easy to communicate with- friendly, easy to understand, helpful and promptly followed up with a phone call about 2 questions I asked her regarding the vehicle. She made an appointment for us, which was followed up by a sales manager confirming our appointment an hour later. When we arrived, we were greeted with a friendly sales man who helped us find the salesmen who we had an appointment with. We had an appointment with Edwardo, but he was busy with a client so his colleague Alvin assisted us. He was professional, friendly and helpful. We took the 4Runner out on a test drive and ended up purchasing the vehicle. Everything was smooth until we got to the financing experience. By now, it was 6:00 pm (a 3 hour drive back to our home in San Antonio). Around 7:00 pm, a finance person came out to us in the waiting area and said he was helping us next but was having trouble looking up our name. Come to find out, they had spelled out last name wrong. He said “no problem, I’ll be right back after I change it”. About 30 minutes later, this same man who said he would be right back with us, went and took another man who had just arrived to the finance waiting area. My husband and I were very frustrated, as he took someone else back, who had just sat down in the finance waiting area; we still had a long drive back to San Antonio. We waited just short of 2 hours to see a finance manager to purchase the vehicle. The man who took us back was very friendly, and we had many similarities (I’d love to give you a shoutout but I cannot remember your name! Sorry! He is a former army officer). He was easy to talk to. He ended up telling us he was taking his lunch break and overheard a finance person (the man who was supposed to see us) saying that he wanted to take another customer instead of the next client in line (my husband and I). When our finance guy heard this, he stopped his lunch break and went and took the clients who were supposed to be next (my husband and I). Not sure if this other man that got to go ahead of us was purchasing a more expensive vehicle, or if he was friends with this man or what. Either way, what the man did was wrong. No matter what type of customer you have, whether they’re purchasing an expensive car or not, whether they’re a different race, they’re your friend, whatever excuse you can come up with, it should not be like that. The person who is next in line next should be the person serviced. That being said, my husband and I appreciate the finance manager that assisted us in purchasing our vehicle. His loyalty to his customers and the Toyota experience was above and beyond. He could have turned his eye to the situation that his college created, but instead he chose to step up and fix the situation. Our 4Runner is great & we love it. More
