I wanted to follow up on my previous visit to Doxon Toyota to explore options for leasing or purchasing a new vehicle. I was prepared to have my credit checked and income verified, but unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. One issue that stood out was that the salesperson appeared to be under the impression that my vehicle was there for service. Despite this, my keys and registration were taken while I was only there to discuss a possible vehicle purchase. In my opinion, requesting and holding a customer’s keys and registration in that situation felt highly irregular and uncomfortable, especially since I had not agreed to purchase a vehicle. During the visit, the salesperson repeatedly questioned my purpose for being there, which came across as rude and unprofessional. When I spoke with the sales manager, the experience did not improve. I felt that my concerns were not being listened to or taken seriously. At one point, when the manager went to retrieve my keys and registration, he returned with the wrong set. When my keys were eventually returned, the way they were handled felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially with them being dangled in front of me. I had also considered scheduling routine maintenance for my vehicle, but after this experience, I am no longer interested in receiving service at this location. As a retired military service member, I value professionalism, respect, and basic attention to detail. Unfortunately, my visit left me feeling like I was wasting the salesperson’s and manager’s time rather than being treated as a serious customer. I gave this dealership a 1-star review only because my credit was checked, and I received an estimate on a new vehicle. Everything else about the experience fell far below my expectations. The response was that they are sorry I felt this way. How would you feel as a new customer? Based on this visit, I would not recommend Doxon Toyota to anyone looking for a new vehicle.
