"poor service, not listening"

I took by Camry in for its 115,000 service and asked that several other things be checked. They check the tire wear and pressure, but not apparently check the tire sensor and the warning light was still on when I picked the car up. I also had the hybrid service done. Even with these two maintenance things, they service needed indicator on the readout system was not reset. I future asked them to look at the front end and check the breaks (I think we were bumped by someone) they checked the frontend, reattached the mud guard, but never looked at the brakes.

JuanMiguel Funez just now Totally disappointed to be Dunning Toyota a lot to think before get a car again. Service horrible.. I’m paying for my car $50,000.00 which is under warranty my car sit is supposed the best but is losing a few stitches. I take my car to Dunning Toyota to see what they can do about it.. I spoke to Joel Dunning who spoke to two different person and the end they said. we going to make you appointment on Wednesday cause (doctor vinyl) is going to here they only are here Wednesday and Thursday so I said Wednesday so I get there on time and guess what no body no even one person have any idea why I was there . I loss a day of work $150.00 to make my car fix whit the right person. But not to that day they start to take pictures and asking questions about what happens and we going to make a claim we going to let you know probably a week o so .. I totally understand a claim is a process but why thy don’t take those pictures in the first place. What I thick is like any other cheap dealers once your signature is in the paper don’t care what happens. So after purchasing 7 cars in Dunning Toyota that the service I get. there is NO WAY on earth I going to make business with Dunning Toyota never

"Formerly Five Star Service Facility has Become just Okay"

While I formerly rated Dunning Toyota five stars, I can no longer do so for the following reasons. First, it now takes several emails to get a response from staff--even on high priority matters such as recalls. Second, pricing is less than competitive. I got a brake repair from another repair facility for half the price--and the other repair facility uses brakes that are better than OEM. The reason that I cannot in good conscience rate this dealer less than three stars is that: a) The dealer principal/owner John T. is honest and does respond promptly to his own emails (even though his line and management service staff do not). b) the repair facility is honest as well. While not cost competitive (excepting oil changes), they only repair what is necessary--no unnecessary repairs. Unfortunately, due to the ineffective communication, less-than-competitive pricing, and customer service which is now only adequate rather than stellar--we now get the majority of our repairs done at a local garage, which has outstanding customer service and more competitive pricing.

Sorry to hear that we are missing the mark for you. We do constantly shop our competitors, including independents, to try and be cost competitive on all of our services. Obviously, there are times, with factory trained technicians and OEM parts, that it becomes difficult to compete with aftermarket component prices and non-factory trained, less expensive technicians. That said, we always try. We appreciate your feedback and prior business. Hopefully, you continue to give us a shot!

"Excellent Service"

Recently (Nov. 8) I took my 2017 Highlander to Dunning Toyota for routine service and to have my snow tires put on as I was heading to upper Michigan to look into why my heating furnace was not properly working. As usually, I could not be more satisfied with the excellent work performed by the Service Department. My contact is Kan who has provided me with excellent and detailed knowledge of the Highlander’s status on each visit. At this visit Kan informed me that the water pump was leaking. This finding was very concerning as I had a 5-hour trip directly ahead on me to our up-state cottage to have our furnace immediately repaired. Kan informed me that he needed to order the water pump part and that he would try fitting the five-six hour required service into their schedule. My impression was Kan was a miracle worker to orchestrate having my water pump immediately replaced (2 days) in such a timely fashion. This a prime example of the numerous times that I have Kan help me with excellent service. I can highly recommend Dunning Toyota’s Service Department.

"Terrible Service"

Almost lost my engine, due to overheating, because the mechanic didn't plug in the radiator cooling fan properly after service (we had to spend > $600 extra as we were out of state & had to make an unscheduled / unnecessary stop because of car trouble). On an earlier visit, mechanic used the wrong kind of transmission flush & caused a gasket leak – I was told that I had to spend about $2500 to fix the leakage. I like Toyota cars & have always driven Toyotas, but am seriously considering buying some other type of car because, unfortunately, this is the only Toyota dealership in my area. I wish I could give a zero rating.

"decent this time around"

as a customer since 1980 I have some history with Dunning. Since the purchase of the 2013 Sienna the service has been uneven until recently. For example, the multipoint inspection form was included this time, but not on several previous occasions. Once during a scheduled maintenance they forgot I was waiting for the van to be done. On other occasions they would go way beyond the extra mile: Woody Woods loaned me his car for an overnite while waiting for repairs, and Carol Stanley drove me to work on her own accord to minimize inconvenience. Superb service by these two very thoughtful people. On this past oil change, Zach was courteous enough, but somewhat abrupt as he sped me through the payment process as there was no review of the work done. Since I have lost the local garage in Chelsea for regular servicing, Dunning is my next choice.

"Charged me $125 for just telling me what was wrong"

My car back up camera was displaying each time the left turn signal blinked and each time I pressed on the brakes. I did not know what in the world could possibly cause the issue. Dunning service saw the 7 pin trailer hitch which was installed by Antwerpen Toyota in Clarksville, MD and said it was probably the issue, that they could not service the 7 pin hitch, and charged me $125 for diagnostics which they said they would do when I checked in the car. Turns Dunning service was correct about the hitch which had corroded and caused the symptoms. The hitch was later replaced by Hitches and More for $67 and no more backup camera is displayed unnecessarily. I just wish Toyota had told me they could not service 7 pin hitches BEFORE they checked in the car and charged me $125 for only providing advice. Also, the Wireless connection in the waiting room was intermittent to not working this visit so I could not accomplish any work while waiting for my vehicle. Other than this visit, all other service at Dunning has been 5 stars and outstanding This web site is forcing me to select the name of the Service Employee. I do not memorize names of service employees and have no clue who it was that I had to service the vehicle.

"Service Above and Beyond "

Although my wife and I only live a half mile from Spartan Toyota in Lansing, Michigan, we drive 68 morning miles one way to Dunning Toyota in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The service at Dunning is truly exceptional. The service personnel are extremely professional and above all very courteous. They are honestly concerned about customer satisfaction. I especially thank the Service Manager, Doug Balogh, for his constant attention to service details.

"Really poor service "

I love my Toyota but the Dunning Toyota service department was the worst customer service I have every experienced. We have been taking our 2010 Prius for basic maintenance for the last couple of years,every time we go there they have lame excuse why they can’t get a part or even do simple things like an oil change. When I take my Honda Odyssey to victory or Germain it’s never an issue.
