I brought my 2016 Chevy Equinox to Eagle Chevrolet under an active GM case for a diagnostic due to known internal engine issues. I followed GM’s process and worked with Stephen McHone, the Service Manager, who verbally assured me that if I leased a vehicle through Eagle, the service fees would be waived. Stephen recommended spark plug replacement, solenoid work, and cleaning — and said it might fix the issue. Based on that, I reluctantly agreed, trusting that this was part of the GM diagnostic process and that the charges would be waived if I moved forward with a lease. The repairs didn’t fix the problem. I was later billed $1,293.02, with no prior written estimate, and only offered a 10% discount when I pushed back. On top of that, Eagle threatened $75/day storage fees retroactive to June 30 unless I paid the full amount — which I ultimately did, just to get my car released. Meanwhile, I tried to lease a vehicle through Eagle, but the sales team failed completely. They were unprofessional, dismissive, and made the deal confusing by ignoring key rebates I qualified for. I gave them everything they needed — they just didn’t follow through. I ended up leasing the vehicle elsewhere, where I was treated with transparency and respect. Eagle Chevrolet made this process unnecessarily stressful and unfair. If you go here, get everything in writing and be cautious of verbal promises. I would never return. — Karen Romano More
