Dear LordK, There was no bait and switch. East Hills Chevrolet would have gladly sold you a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse LS for $28,400. As was relayed to me by David Del Vecchio, sales manager, you originally wanted a non-"bells and whistles" Traverse but after learning the base model was 8-passenger, you indicated a desire for a 7-passenger Traverse with captain's chairs. Captains chairs became a non-negotiable during your visit. Chevy makes no Traverse LS with captains chairs. The Traverse LT has captains chairs. The Traverse LT was $32,820. I'm told you asked that we lower our $32,820 price to $28,400 which we could not. You then went to our sister store and bought the 8-passenger Chevrolet Traverse LS without captain's chairs for $30,880 with taxes and fees. I sense your frustration in this whole experience as there were a lot of numbers, trim models, and vin-specific incentives (15% off) to consider. I'm sorry we could not earn your business and for any miscommunications between LS and LT trims that may have occurred. You have a great new Traverse and we wish you all the best with it. What you were told and what transpired are two seperate things. Ask Charles how after the first set of numbers with educator discount were supplied to us he suddenly remembered the 15% off special that he had which had the captains seat configuration my wife wanted. He ran the numbers with the 15% off and came in at 34,,000 and a few hundred . We said we were off to Honda to see the pilot first because my wife wanted to see it. When we came back from honda two hours later we sat down and even though it was more than I wanted to pay , I was willing to satisfy my wifes desire to have the captains chairs if we could negotiate a price 1,500 lower or even a 1,000 lower. Well when we mentioned the LT and 15% off vehicle , we were informed in the space of two hours the veichle sold. Then Charles informed us of the fact that he did not even have to mention the 15% discount and how lucky we were to have been given the oppurtunity to have had a chance to get it but alas we just missed it , How many times have I just missed it in a car dealer ? I have not enough fingers to count. I stand by my bait and switch call. I care not who gets my business as long as I pay the price I am willing to pay and not treated like a mark. The fact that you are part of a monopoly and I have littlle leeway in negotiating is not missed by me..
