Diagnostic and Inspection Service Took vehicle in for service last week because I noticed a leak and didnt know where it came from but had a general idea. I told the service adviser th Took vehicle in for service last week because I noticed a leak and didnt know where it came from but had a general idea. I told the service adviser that I think one of the leaks is from the head gasket but the other I was not sure. Before I tell them to check it out, I asked the service adviser, Rick, what all do the mechanics look for when doing an inspection. He said they do a thorough inspection. I asked again, but what do they inspect or look for and basically was told again they look at everything. So I say, im about to go to Arizona, so I want to make sure everything is good. Tires, brakes and so forth since the vehicle is hitting a 100k miles shorty. I come back and they said my power steering is bad. I said what about the head gasket? Rick said that there was nothing said about it. I said, well can you put the car on a hoist and I'll show you where i seen the leak. Rick said well our mechanics are well trained and are confident in their diagnostics. I said okay but can you put the car back on the hoist so I can show you where I noticed a leak. He calls mechanic and they get it back on hoist and they acknowledge their is a leak that they didn't see when looking at the vehicle the first time. So now I know where my problems are which is great and is why I came to them as professionals. While walking back to the service desk, seeing that this head gasket leak was missed, I asked Rick did they look over rest of the car and he said yes. I said so the brakes and tires are good too? He said yes! (I definitely didn't want any problems on a long trip from WI to AZ). I go to another dealer and in addition to the 2 leaks, I find out I have been driving on 3 brakes almost two. They show me the rear rotors which are in terrible shape, the rear passenger caliper is broke, the bracket was warped and the rotor was rusted out like it had never been used since the caliper was severely damaged. The driver side rear wasn't as bad but was not working properly either. So the reason for my disappointment is that I paid for a diag test and asked they look the car over for the 100k mile check as I had a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng trip ahead of me and was told that the brakes were good when the brakes were not even looked at. I had a Toyota and came to a toyota dealer because they know best what all to look at since they are specially trained on toyotas. The only reason I went to get car looked at by someone else is because I was getting a bad vibe and wanted to be sure my car was good to go for nice long road trip. Would of been terrible to get outside of Madison and find out I was only driving with front braking power only. More

I bought my 2014 Tundra from them, sold it back 13 months later, and had it serviced there, too. Every experience made me wish I had never met another dealer. I have bought many cars in my life, but never had as much fun as with this car. Price was a bit lower than the other local dealer, but would have bought from them anyway. Everyone there is so friendly. Not the closest to my home, but worth the drive. Nice service people. More
Cross this one off your list. Tacoma looked great, but the listing for the truck said it was a SR5 package, which includes nicer seats, and a better trim package. closer inspection revealed it was not an SR5 package. Salesman Bryan blamed his coworkers for the wrong description and referred to them as "idiots". I was willing to live without the SR5 package, but of course no discount was offered, only a printed piece of paper showing the NADA value of the truck without the SR5 package, which was right at their current asking price. This piece of paper was a "present", according to bryan. Everything else looked ok and I was about to sign the check and papers but I decided to finish my inspection. climbed in the box and looked at the roof. it looked like bowling ball fell from 1 story building and landed on the truck. massive dent on roof near drivers door, and several smaller dents across the top. wow! pointed it out and everyone claimed they didn't see it. funny you could miss something like that after a full detail on the truck. Bryan said his manager didn't even catch it, kind of passed the buck just like the misprinted SR5 package. Bryan, accountability is key. this was your sale, these things should have all been checked. no one likes a surprise, especially after a 5.5 hour drive. they offered a 400 dollar discount, yea ok, that's a bargain, not! we lost a day to driving, few tanks of gas, hotel room, paperwork fee from my bank, etc, etc. classic bait and switch. lesson learned. We found a car that we liked and sat down to talk about prices and they refused to negotiate past the pittance they offered. Furthermore, they refused to look at any research I brought in even though the price was 2k above anything . See below for some (lightly) paraphrased quotes: "We almost never give discounts. 99% of the time we don't discount prices." "Nobody uses KBB or Edmunds, we use NADA." "We don't look at NADA, we use a proprietary third party software." (After I brought in NADA research.) We decided that this was fine, the car was something we were willing to pay a premium for. As we were negotiating, the salesman used every single quote to try and convince us to buy the car. Eventually we decided on paying the price they demanded. Then the real nightmare started. If you come in with an external loan approval, caveat emptor. More quotes. "I see your approval letter but we talked to the same bank and they say you need to put money down." (~25% of the purchase price) "We got you this great rate with another bank!" (It was over a full interest point higher...) We had our loan officer call them. Even after that, they still claimed that our bank was demanding substantial money down. This means they lied to us in an attempt to go with their preferred lender, likely pocketing a kickback or the difference between the interest rate they got and the one they quoted us. This happened even though they knew how much they were making on the car, that we were reluctantly accepting the price of the car, and that we already talked to our bank and got the story from the lender. They made a greedy gamble that we could be bullied into accepting a higher rate. Do not waste your time here. More
I wish all dealerships were like East Madison Toyota I have bought many cars in my life and had some good and bad experiences. The experience at East Madison Toyota was amazing. I was very impressed wi I have bought many cars in my life and had some good and bad experiences. The experience at East Madison Toyota was amazing. I was very impressed with Ryan V., in sales. He was completely honest about the car, extremely responsive (even texting) and even went out of the way to make a video of the car just for since I was coming from Michigan. When I got there he had my 2012 Hyundai Elantra completely detailed and full of gas. We took it for a drive and it truly drove like brand new, as he said it did. I really like how this dealership has all its used vehicles completely inspected by a technician and running like new. They even included a 6,000 mile warranty free of charge. They have very competitive pricing as well. As a cherry on top, they even have a nice kids room (i brought three of them) and the dealership is extremely clean inside and out. Thank you again Ryan and all those at East Madison Toyota. Keep up the great work. The transaction went smoothly and I am really liking my new car. More
I bought a used Sienna from here, after I left the dealership I noticed the low tire pressure monitor was not working. Also when I got it home the engine was making a horrible noise and was leaking c dealership I noticed the low tire pressure monitor was not working. Also when I got it home the engine was making a horrible noise and was leaking coolant out. I contacted the dealer and was treated very rudely. Dave Saley is one of the worst people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. My dealer repaired the water pump and monitor and still have not been paid for theie service. I have had to threaten to take them to small claims court since neither of these problems were dislosed on the safety form before I could get any resolution at all. I would never go to, use or recommend this dealer to anyone, ever! More
Purchased a used vehicle (Pontiac Vibe) 11/26/13 and was told 'check engine' light, which was on, would reset in a day or so, since repairs had been done to the vehicle. It did not so I called my salesper told 'check engine' light, which was on, would reset in a day or so, since repairs had been done to the vehicle. It did not so I called my salesperson (within the first 3 days) and was told to set up a repair appointment which, due to holidays, did not happen for a week or more. Car exhibited additional issues and when brought in was told the computer was faulty. Dealership initially had problems finding a GM computer for it. After another week, a follow up call to a different sales person (mine was on vacation) resulted in the disclosure of the problem in finding the part and maybe the car should be 'traded out'. After another week of waiting I went in to discuss a 'trade out' and was suddenly told the computer was found, but the new one indicated the auto transmission was faulty, and there were problems finding one of those, but they thought they had found one, but it would take time to get up to Madison, with the expectation it wouldn't be done till after Christmas and New Years holidays. After emailing a complaint to the John Wineke about the issue, i suddenly get a call from the service dept. that the car is ready to be picked up, on 1/07/14, I asked to speak to a manager (Dave Saley) since I felt uneasy about taking possession of the vehicle that that had been misrepresented at time of sale as to condition, that maybe a trade out might result in a less repair prone car. I was told that the 'trade out' would be considered a trade-in, with the implication I would not get my purchase price back, even though these problems were from time of sale. So i asked that, at the least, my 90 day warranty be extended, since almost half of the 90 days had elapsed while the car sat at the dealership awaiting parts and repair. My concerns fell on deaf ears, although mine burned with his lack of concern and rudeness. A long story, in short, the car is perhaps whole, I am not. I feel like I was misled to the car's condition at time of sale, their offer to 'trade out' after their inability to source replacement parts was highly misleading. There was no communication from the Service Department regarding status of the repair, I had to initiate every call regarding an update. With my failed attempt to at least get the 90 day warranty extended (a way for them to stand behind and validate their repairs and (finally) correct diagnoses of the problems) I became resigned that this car was mine, like it or not, which is very futile and dis-heartening. I think now they had activated the warranty to replace the transmission, without informing me, so in effect, that clock was already ticking on the time period so that couldn't be extended easily. The other issue is 'They Just Don't Get It', customer service wise; from the lack of communication regarding the repairs, to the 'hardball' and downright rude attitude of Dave Saley at the end of both our phone conversation and face to face meetings, to the cordial, 'but I can't really help you' from the General Manager. It was eye-opening and rather off-putting.... they lost any chance of repeat business from me, and people I know that heard the drawn out saga while it was on-going agree... More

I was august 2013. Very pleased with our choice. To be honest we didn't even know which car we should get. And then we meat George Penny(our dealer). I was impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and down to earth personality. He made us feel comfortable in making our decisions, answered all our questions. We spend few hours with him on Saturday evening trying to make a choice between few cars. George was so patient and helpful that I felt that he was my friend and not a dealer who just trying to sell a car. He was the BEST car dealer that I ever meat. Highly recommend him. More
