I went in to get a squeak looked at and told them to get an estimate BEFORE working on my car so I could see if it would be covered in my warranty...after a few hrs they called me back and said that it was an estimate BEFORE working on my car so I could see if it would be covered in my warranty...after a few hrs they called me back and said that it was a bad throwout bearing for the clutch and wouldn't be covered under my warranty. They gave me the cost and I didn't want them to do it. cause it was NOT covered under my warranty. So instead of putting my car back together giving my car back at that point, (since they called me when my transmission was out) they said that they'd have to charge me the cost of installing my transmission back in ($800+). They said that I should just replace the clutch plates and such since it was already out(another 300+). They had me by my xxxxx at this point. They did give me a slight discount for the "misunderstanding" I asked them for the parts that they replaced. After waiting 25min they came back with only the throwout bearing and said the clutch plates were thrown out the day before. Does this sound fishy? DON'T TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ! ! ! these are the reasons WHY??? Customer service.... Very poor, untrustworthy, and act like a scam is just everyday business. Quality of work... Well, they did fix the squeak but I don't think they truly replaced my clutch plates after dealing with them. Friendliness.... Not the greatest... but they're running a business. (I wish they would say hi. Overall experience.... I will never give them service again, and have been telling everyone I know about them. Price....It is a dealership so at $108 an hour...that probably is normal. Like I said they had me by the xxxxx and I wasn't going to pay them 800.00 for nothing....(800.00 no repair or 1,200.00 fixed...?) More
On September 16th we bought a new 2011 Prius from Shawn at Lancaster Toyota at almost full MSRP ($300 off). We were assured that there were none and would be no discounts/deals available due to the fact t at Lancaster Toyota at almost full MSRP ($300 off). We were assured that there were none and would be no discounts/deals available due to the fact that these vehicles were in such demand and there was a severe shortage because of the earthquake in Japan. His exact words were "he hadn't discounted a Prius in five months". Exactly one week later we recieved the following email from the General Manager: This is a rare opportunity to save on a New Toyota. Every New Toyota in stock will be priced at $72 under invoice. This special event begins at 8:00am Friday the 23rd of September, and will conclude at 8:00pm on Monday the 26th of September. Only at Jon Lancaster Toyota can you get these fantastic deals, two years of complimentary maintenance, along with all factory incentives and world class guest service. Hurry in for the best selection. All previous sales excluded. We look forward to seeing you because "You are what drive's us". Danton Walthers General Sales Manager Jon Lancaster Toyota/Scion 3501 Lancaster Drive Madison, WI 53718 I replied to Mr. Walthers with the following response: Hello Danton, We just recieved your email with $72 under invoice on your vehicles. In the future you may want to NOT send this to people who just last Friday bought a new Prius from you at $300 under MSRP. We are also the same people that bought a new Venza from you in March. We were told there was no bargining on Prius' ... your email makes us feel like we really got screwed! Very Dissappointed! I awaited Mr. Walthers response ... but it never came. Finally five days later I called him to make sure his email was working. He said he recieved my response but didn't find my email "required any action" on his part. I'm not sure where Mr. Walthers recieved his training in "Happy Customers" but I would think any correspondence to the General Manager of a company that includes the words "We feel like we really got screwed" and "Very Dissappointed" would at least whisper if not scream for action (or at least a response). Eight months ago we purchased a new Venza from Shawn ... we know that today you can buy that same vehicle for about $500 less than we paid. We understand that things change but it was disheartening to recieve this "special" just seven days after our latest purchase. Especiall after how we were reassured that we were getting the best deal and there simply weren't and would be any discounting of new Prius'. Mr. Dalthers made it clear to me that this email was recieved in error and we never should have gotten it. In closing ... Mr. Walthers did not even offer as much as a free oil change to attempt to keep us "Happy Customers". We have been given every reason in the book why this review may not be justified. The car we wanted had to be obtained through a dealer trade (do you really think we wouldn't be driving a different (in-stock) color if we could have paid $1500 less?). That my trade-in was given more (it was given Kelly Blue Book trade-in fair market price - actiually $500 under do to the fact that it had been in a minor accident). That there isn't much mark up in Prius (actually the invoice price of the vehicle is almost $1800 under MSRP according to Edmunds.com, MSN.com and AOL Autos). We liked Shawn or we would not have gone back to Jon Lancaster Toyota to purchase a second vehicle. Unfortunately the actions (or lack therof) and the "who-cares" attitude of Mr. Walthers would keep us from doing so again in the future. Shawn has since offered to send us a $100 gas card ... which we have declined. Jeff -n- Sarah More
My expeience at Jon Lancaster was a good one. I went in with no expectations of purchasing a vehicle given my current situation. Shawn Stittleburg was very down to earth and so was John E Wineke. Our recent experience of purchasing a new 2011 Toyota Venza was excellent in all respects. We met Shawn at a social event and the conversation turned to cars. One thing led to another and a week or so later, I was test driving a Venza at the Jon Lancaster dealership in Madison. We had some special needs and the Venza turned out to be the ideal vehicle for us. The whole transaction was the best new car buying experience we have ever had. Shawn was very helpful at every turn and was able to get us an excellent deal on our new Venza. At no time was there any pressure on us to buy. At the time of delivery, he went over all of the features so we felt entirely comfortable when we drove out of the dealership lot in our new vehicle. I would be happy to recommend Jon Lancaster's and Shawn to anyone. More
I've just leased my THIRD car with Shawn Stittleburg. That should about say it all, but I'll fill in the blanks. Shawn is the consummate sales professional. He has always been pleasant and respectful, an That should about say it all, but I'll fill in the blanks. Shawn is the consummate sales professional. He has always been pleasant and respectful, answering my questions with patience and detail. He makes himself available, even offering to come in on his day off to meet me. He is NOT pushy, rather he lets the consumer take the lead. He follows up regularly, checking in to learn how my car is working out. He remembers the little details (like how I preferred the first Camry to the Prius, and now back to a Camry!)He's one of the GOOD GUYS! Go Shawn! More
My wife and I have been looking for a used Prius for quite some time, so we decided to stop at Jon Lancaster to see if they had any on the lot. As we were looking at the ones available, we were cheerful quite some time, so we decided to stop at Jon Lancaster to see if they had any on the lot. As we were looking at the ones available, we were cheerfully greeted by Curt and immediately felt comfortable in talking to him about our wants and needs. My wife asked if they had any new Priuses on the lot as the price difference between used and the new base model was not that significant. Curt then showed us one that we immediately became attached to. After a short test drive we bombarded Curt with all kinds of questions about the car and its features. As Curt's specialty is used car sales, he didn't always know the answer but made every effort to find it. As our talks progressed, Curt determined that perhaps we should be talking to a new car salesman, one knowing more about the new Prius. At this point, Curt introduced this person to us and said that it would probably be best if he pass us on to him. Because of the rapport we had developed with Curt, we respectfully declined and continued to work with Curt. We felt the faith and trust we felt in him surpassed the minor inconvenience of not getting all our questions immediately answered. Curt continued to hustle as we had our trade-in evaluated and priced. He must have put on several miles walking about that afternoon to get our questions answered, showing us the new car features, working out the trade-in details for our current car, and so on, all the while being most cheerful and accommodating. In the end, my wife and I walked out of there feeling giddy about getting the car we wanted at a fair price from a sales person we believed was looking out for our best interests. We've had the car for more than a week and Curt has contacted us on numerous occasions asking if there are any questions or concerns about our purchase. The only real concern we have is that Curt won't be available for our next new car purchase. THANKS CURT! More

We were very pleased by our experience at Jon Lancaster, Mike Pionke our salesman was very personable and knew what he was selling, and I know it's the Financial Services managers job to sell us additional Mike Pionke our salesman was very personable and knew what he was selling, and I know it's the Financial Services managers job to sell us additional warrantees (everyone dreads this part of buying a car), he was not pushy about it at all.
