If there was a zero, I would rate it zero. Have had issues with service and purchasing in the past but hoped things had changed cause they are near my home and would be convenient, but I was wrong. We issues with service and purchasing in the past but hoped things had changed cause they are near my home and would be convenient, but I was wrong. Went into service area and made appointment to repair two broken cosmetic peace’s on my 2017 explorer. I was very specific, since I knew they had recalls to also repair, that I wanted to know if it could all be done same day. I was assured it would take about 4 hours or so but yes. I was sooo worried given bad experience in the past, that I asked to be sure parts were available. My advisor spoke to parts dept in front of me and he said yes, he had the parts and would put them aside. I asked if I could just pay for them right then to be sure the parts were secure for my appointment which was a week away. He stated they were always in stock and did not advise paying since it could be covered under my warranty. So..I left. Returned and had car there at 7:30am as sch’d and no one called so I called to Ck on status. I was told they would update me at 3:00 but they should have it done by 5:00 although they were short staffed and if there was a problem, they cle give me a rental. I told them I could not do that as I would be unable to return the rental as I work 7-7 and he assured me it would likely be done. He called at 3:00 and said yup, it will be. Then he said pick up at 5:00. He called and said car ready at 5:00 and all done. Not so..I had the sense to ask him you mean they did my repair as well as the recalls? He said no, they had no parts and they were back ordered and he would just call when they had parts. Bottom line, they all lied…. They were only interested in doing the recalls and they were NEVER going to tell me they had done what the car was there for to begin with., it was yet another joke with these folks. Had they been honest, I could have made other arrangements, but they were going to just have me pick up my car never saying a word till I got there and saw nothing had been done. They had all day to tell me they had no intention of doing the requested work and made another lie saying parts were back ordered and had to be ordered when I heard the parts guy say he had the parts. They had the nerve to try and sell me a car! Really! Cannot trust this dealership… no honesty … how can trust them with anything. Bad news…. Would drive to next city before ever dealing with this dealership! More
I went in for my scheduled appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. When I was checking in , the service advisor stated that I needed to have my transmission fluid changed and the transmission flush and tire rotation. When I was checking in , the service advisor stated that I needed to have my transmission fluid changed and the transmission flushed. This was before they even looked at the vehicle. The fee was to be several hundreds of dollars and if I didn't have it done, the transmission would fail. I countered that I had read the Ford owners manual and that this service was due at 150,000 miles and I had half that many miles. At that point the rep shut up and just filled out the paperwork. I later wrote to Mr. Elder expressing my concern over their attempt to sell unnecessary services.... he didn't even have the courtesy to respond. I will never deal with them again. If you decide to go there, please educate yourself in advance so they don't take advantage of you. More

I am very disappointed with the service I received on my F250 at Elder Ford. I had my vehicle towed there in April 2020 for repairs. I was recommended a high pressure oil pump which I proceeded with at F250 at Elder Ford. I had my vehicle towed there in April 2020 for repairs. I was recommended a high pressure oil pump which I proceeded with at $2955.40. I also paid for a diesel diagnostics which costed $189.95 and an oil change priced at $129.95. Additionally, I was recommended to get an air filter replacement, a fuel filter, brake pads, and to have a diesel fuel injection service performed. These are the only recommended repairs in which I declined. I picked my vehicle up after the repairs were made on the high pressure oil pump. I immediately noticed an oil burning smell. I figured it was probably burning off spilled oil from the repair. I only use the vehicle three times a month to tow my boat, fifteen miles down the road. Almost every time when using the vehicle the smell would show up. I got curious to see if there were any leaks, and I opened the hood and the top of the engine was covered in oil, in the same area where the mechanic did the high pressure oil pump. I never had any major oil leaks before, therefore, I assumed this was not a big deal and would be covered under the warranty of the oil pump. I took the vehicle back to Ford for them to correct the issue. A few days later I received a phone call, from the service advisor stating that the engine and transmission need to be removed and resealed. I would like to know why this was not recommended when they did the high pressure oil pump in April. I did not even make it to my next oil change, mileage wise. And now I need $9000 in repair after already spending $3500. After speaking to the service manager, Terry, he stated he would have the mechanic degrease the engine to see where the oil was coming from. I assumed it was coming from the high pressure oil pump that was previously worked on and Terry stated it was not coming from there, but they would like to degrease the engine to see where it is coming from. I do not understand how they distinguished that it was not coming from the oil pump when they did not even degrease it yet. The engine had a considerable amount of oil on the top of it. A few days later I received a call and was advised that it was coming from the oil cooler which is located right next to the oil pump. The mechanic said that he had told my previous advisor that it was leaking when he did the oil pump. I was not made aware of this and I have invoices to back this up. I find it interesting that the mechanic did not know it was coming from the oil cooler, and wanted to pull my engine and reseal it. But he knew it was coming from the oil cooler when he did the oil pump in April. He should not of even had to look for it, if it was present in April. I feel that they made a mistake on the installation of the oil pump and are not willing to own up to it. They are taking advantage of me by selling me an oil cooler and probably fixing the oil leak that they made when they did the oil pump. Needing my vehicle, I proceeded with allowing them to fix the oil cooler for $2367.16. I picked my vehicle up on 11/6/2020, after the repairs were made and immediately noticed a hesitation/ running bad. I have never had hesitation before. I immediately took the vehicle back and was advised to continue driving the vehicle to see if the problem persists until the next available appointment on 11/11/2020. I brought my vehicle back on 11/10/2020 (a day early), due to free time and I was called today 11/11/2020. I was told that they put a computer on the vehicle for diagnostics and it determined that my injectors are failing. I find it interesting that I paid for a diesel diagnostics back in April and the issue was not found. This was less than 3,000 miles. The only problems that I am having with this vehicle is in the area of the engine where the mechanic replaced the high pressure oil pump. I feel that these problems are occurring due to poor workmanship and I should not be liable for these expenses. More

Great Service Dept. Bought my Mustang from Elder Ford and have had all service done there. Ford evidently had an ongoing problem with the A/C condensers in these cars. My Bought my Mustang from Elder Ford and have had all service done there. Ford evidently had an ongoing problem with the A/C condensers in these cars. My A/C quit and they Replaced the condenser under warranty. Unfortunately the repair required removal of the entire dashboard, console and seats. I wasn’t happy to have my new car dismantled and was worried that the interior wouldn’t fit together the same as the original. I had had the same thing done with a Lexus I owned (and not under warranty at a cost of over $2,300.) and to be honest they did a sloppy job putting everything back together. When I returned to pick my Mustang up I examined everything closely. It was impossible to tell that virtually the entire interior of the car had been removed and then replaced. No parts missing and everything was lined up and working as it should. Elder obviously has some very experienced and professional technicians on their staff that take pride in their work. With a service Dept like that I won’ t take my Mustang anywhere else. I trust them to do the work correctly and stand behind what they do. Great experience from start to finish. More
