I own a 2018 Hyundai Tucson and have been taking it to Elgin Hyundai for service ever since I bought it brand new. Part of the reason is because of the warranty, the reasonable price and the good service I have received over the last 24 years. My most recent experience is no exception. Starting in January of 2023, I was experiencing some issues with my powertrain… issues that are covered under warranty. During the time I first noticed the issues, I worked with one of the service representatives from Elgin Hyundai named Jorge Quevedo. No customer likes experiencing issues with their cars, much less a warranty issue near the expiration date of the warranty. However, over the last 20 months, Jorge assisted me through the process of rectifying the issue from beginning to end. The process was sometimes frustrating because rules are rules and protocols are protocols. However, Jorge was patient, honest with me and saw me through the entire period - even during my communications with Hyundai corporate office to get the work completed. I have never once felt alone, mal-informed, or rushed and it is because of service reps like Jorge that keep people like me loyal customers to brands that value good customer service, honesty and follow through. Kudos to Jorge, kudos to Hyundai for honoring their warranty, and thank you all for a pleasant customer experience for the last 24 years. My next new car will most definitely be - you guessed it - a Hyundai because of experiences like this. More
I HAVE A 2023 HYUNDAI TUSCON. RECENTLY IT START DISPLAYING A "UNEVEN ROAD SERVICE WARNING" ON THE DASH IN PLACE OF THE TACHOMETER. CALLED DEALER SAID IT WAS A SYSTEM UPDATE NEEDED RECENTLY IT START DISPLAYING A "UNEVEN ROAD SERVICE WARNING" ON THE DASH IN PLACE OF THE TACHOMETER. CALLED DEALER SAID IT WAS A SYSTEM UPDATE NEEDED. WAS TOLD IS WOULD BE 20$ AND TAKE 12 HOURS TO COMPLETE. CALLED ANOTHER DEALER SLIGHTLY FARTHER. MADE AN APPOINTMENT THURSDAY MORNING AND THEY SAID 1 HOUR AND WILL COST NOTHING. YOU NEED A BETTER SERVICE MANAGER THATS WHY I GAVE IT THIS RATING. More
It is no secret that I am not a fan of this company but I will give a good shout out to Andy in the service department. He told my son that he will help him get a new engine for his car that is only 3 years will give a good shout out to Andy in the service department. He told my son that he will help him get a new engine for his car that is only 3 years old and still under warranty and he did just that. He was very professional and patient with him and explained things to me when I asked. My son got his car back today and all is good. Thank you Andy you were very honest and helpful to my son and I am thankful. If u need to service you car there ask for Andy. More
I am very disappointed in this dealership. Was in for service Anthony was my visor and when I brought my car home I noticed my backup camera and remote start (both are aftermarket) wasn’t working. I called and informed Anthony of this issue and he said bring back next day! Later that same night after getting off work I’m driving down Lake st and my heat shield fell from bottom of my car and was dragging on the ground so I pulled over and had to get a ride to my house as I was still about 15 minutes away and didn’t feel safe driving it home. I called the next morning informing Anthony of the situation and after him letting me know sometimes that happens (it’s never happened to me and I’ve never heard of this happening) I told him I need a tow and that I will not be paying for the tow due to this wasn’t my fault that this happened and after Anthony speaking to supervisor he agreed! I went back to the place that I had installed my remote start and backup camera and he said that the device that they had installed was uninstall by someone and cut all the zip ties they used to keep their wires together! Needless to say I’m very disappointed with the work they did on my car!!! The work that they were to do was oil change, steering wheel issue(I’m still having same issue) and headlight/taillight issues (changed lightbulbs way too often/ might’ve been a connection issue) More
This is the most unprofessional dealership my wife and I have ever dealt with. The GM, Mike Meha, allowed an employee to smoke in our brand new car, then said we were lying About the smoke smell, even after have ever dealt with. Nothing I like better then to be put on hold for extended period of time by there service department. But it's my fault for buying a car at Elgin Hyundai. I will not make that mistake again. Watch out for the Elgin Hyundai service department. They made me pay $78 for an oil change that should have been free under the Hyundai complementary maintenance program. Plus, the estimate they gave me for the oil change (and who gives an estimate for an oil change instead of a fixed price?) was $9 under what they eventually charged me. Stay away from this place. They are crooks. My wife took her car to them when the rearview camera stopped operating. Without doing any research on her warranty, they told her it was not covered. I called the warranty company and they informed me since we had the better warranty, the Platinum it is covered. The warranty company also informed me that there was never an inquiry from the dealership about whether or not this part is covered. Since my wife had to pay out of pocket, we have to jump through all this red tape to get reimbursed for this. A quick review of her warranty would have shown that this part is covered. They are so surly, condescending and lazy. We are taking our business away from this corrupt dealership. I would have rated ZERO stars but that was not an option. More
