Well lets address current issues with Elgin Kia. I've become a personal network for others who just want to simplify their process when working with "Service" departments at Dealerships. My Kia Te I've become a personal network for others who just want to simplify their process when working with "Service" departments at Dealerships. My Kia Telluride has been to the "service" department at Elgin Kia three times now in 2 months. The first time, it was for an engine light that would come on. With my Chevy Traverse, when the engine light came on, you would have 48 hours to get the vehicle in, or the car would start shutting down. Chevy does it so you never destroy the engine. I learned it the hard way. Why salespeople don't tell someone that the engine light means you have about two days before the car just shoutsdown is beyond me. When I saw the engine light come on with the Telluride, I took it in. 4 days later, I picked it up and paid the bill. They "couldn't" find a reason for the engine light, but they found that I needed $1,700.00 for "maintenance" to the car. Two weeks later, the engine light came on again. This time, I took it to someone who has a "reader" and could tell me what's wrong with my car. It said "Gasket" issues. When I dropped off my car, I told the person checking me in that the reading came up "gasket". He said that he didn't like to reveal the issue with the tech and wanted his team to confirm the issue and compare it to my findings. Two weeks ago, I dropped off my car again at Elgin KIA. It was in for three days, and unable to get my car in front of a mechanic, so I asked for my car back on a Friday night. I asked, "Are you guys super busy"? He responded BEYOND BUSY! He said that they were really backed up. I said, give me a day and time that works for them, where I can get someone to diagnose what the issue is with my car, and why they don't know what's wrong with my car. The appointment for Monday of last week. On Wednesday, I hadn't heard anything, so I called around 3:30 p.m., thinking the Service Department would be finishing up for the day, and I would know more about my car. The person answering at the service desk said that the car had not been pulled in. It would be in on Thursday, and they would know more. Friday came around, and no word from the dealership. This past Friday, I went into Elgin Kia to see just what was going on with my car. NOTHING! My car had been sitting outside for 5 days. In 3 weeks, they've had my car 3 times and 9 days total, and nothing as of yet. This morning, when I dropped it off, I was immediately put into a "loaner" and exited from the building. The last time I was in, there were customers behind me waiting for assistance. I had brought up to the person at "Check in" that my car appointment should not have been on a Monday if they weren't going to diagnose it until Friday at 3:30 pm? More on Elgin Kias facebook....
