Telluride. We ended up going with the Hyundai Palisade, so we attempted to get our $500 back. While we ended up getting our money back, it was not easy.
After 2 emails and 3 phone calls, we ended up driving to the dealership. Once there, they were nice enough, but it took another 20+ minutes for us to get our money back. Why? The dealership only has 1 tablet they use to handle the financial end of their transactions. That 1 tablet was being used by someone else, so we had to wait. No cashier, and no one was available to help us.
So while the dealership is nice to you when they have your business, things definitely change when they don't. It took less than 5 minutes for Elgin Kia to take our deposit, yet it took 5 contacts, a visit to the dealership, and another 20 minutes to wait for "the tablet" for us to get our deposit refunded.
Our experience with Elgin Kia was not a positive one. The likelihood of us returning for any future car purchases? Very low.
