Very disappointed with Elgin Volkswagen. My 19 year old daughter was purchasing her first car. Printed out a break down of the price and we negotiated a price we thought was fair. The break My 19 year old daughter was purchasing her first car. Printed out a break down of the price and we negotiated a price we thought was fair. The breakdown included tax, title, registration. After everything was signed and we went home I started having a nagging feeling about some comments made by the guy we filled paperwork out with. Sure enough, we paid the negotiated amount but WITHOUT any of that going to tax, title and registration which means we will end up paying significantly more on the car than was advertised. I feel awful for my daughter as this was her first big purchase and a significant amount of money for her and already at the top of her budget. Dishonest and sneaky. Left multiple VM’s and emails with no replies. More
Rachel was phenomenal and was very informative on the vehicle and finance options. She made us feel very welcome and calm during the stressful car buying process. The level of service I received was outstanding, and I want to express my gratitude—especially to my salesman, Al, who made the entire process absolutely seamless. Al was extremely helpful, not only with the paperwork but also in taking the time to show and explain all the vehicle’s features so I could fully understand them. I’m 55 and have purchased several cars in my life, and I can confidently say this was the best car-buying experience I’ve had so far. Thank you, Al, and thank you, Elgin Volkswagen! I am writing to share my recent positive experience purchasing a used vehicle from Elgin VW. It was truly the best experience I have had in a long time. Having purchased six vehicles in the past 20 purchasing a used vehicle from Elgin VW. It was truly the best experience I have had in a long time. Having purchased six vehicles in the past 20 years, I can confidently say that this was the most streamlined process from my initial contact with Brittany to closing the deal with George (Jorge), Joe, and the financial team. Five stars all around for Elgin VW! More

I was a little skeptical because the price was so low, but when I went to the dealership a manager named Tom helped me through the process and made it very easy. So far I'm very happy with my Atlas! Refusing to give me access to my own service records. They claim to have done 2 separate multipoint inspections according to my invoices.. They claim the records are no longer available once the job is closed out. I did however get a copy of someone else's. GM claimed he would get to the bottom of this. NEVER called me back. Stay away from this deceitful dealership and service center. More
We went in to buy a Jetta and was lied to by Adnan. The anti theft fee is NOT mandatory at every car dealership. We just bought a brand new Jetta without it. I was literally waiting with check-book in hand when the sales manager Suha Oner tried to slide in $400 fee for some type of ant-theft insurance. I refused to pay for it because I didn't want it and didn't ask for it. Oner refused to sell me the car because I wouldn't pay for his pure profit play. I feel bad for the sales person because his boss lost him an easy comission. Stay away until Suha Oner is gone! More
First time customer and very dissatisfied with the service department. Dropped my vehicle off for a scheduled service appointment and eventually was told that they would not be able to look at it service department. Dropped my vehicle off for a scheduled service appointment and eventually was told that they would not be able to look at it that day, but they'd get it in the next day to check it out. Okay no big deal. Following day I received a call that they were able to diagnose the issue and that they had one of the parts in stock but would have to order the other and it would be in on Monday. Again, no big deal. Reached out on Monday to get an update and see if my car was still going to be ready, to which I was told the tech took off early but should be back Tuesday... so would that be okay? I agreed that would be fine. Reached out again on Tuesday afternoon to ask for an update and see that it would be ready as I was told it would the 2 days prior. I was told "yes, it's almost done and will be ready to pick up." So, I arranged childcare and a ride to go pick up my vehicle. 45 minutes later, while on my way to the dealership to pick up my car, I received a text. "Spoke with the tech, part is in but needs programming and he leaves in 30 minutes. So, it will be done tomorrow (Wednesday)".... (Wait what? You just told me less than an hour ago that it was ready to go I could come pick it up.) So, at that point.. what was I going to do, say no, I'll pick up my unfinished vehicle? So, again on Wednesday, I had to arrange more childcare and a ride to try and go pick up my car and hope that it was actually done. Mind you there was ZERO communication on Wednesday that it was actually done this time or not. This all makes me believe that there is very little time management and/or organization within this facility. Communication internally and with customers is very poor, so unless you're reaching out, you likely will not hear anything regarding your vehicle unless it has to do with money. The price I ended up paying to get my car back was $79.41 more than the price I was given over the phone when I agreed to have it fixed. There was no notice given to me of any additional charges that would apply. Then when you voice your displeasure upon pickup there will be zero attempts made by them to try and make things right with you (the customer), they'll just stare at you until you stop talking and walk away. Because, ultimately, they have you held hostage until you sign on the dotted line and give them what they really care about... money. So, unless you want to get ran around the block and given every excuse as to why they cannot deliver on the things they say. Please do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. You'll save yourself a lot of time and money. Sincerely, A first-time to never again customer. More
