BEWARE OF ELLIS 170 POINT INSPECTION. Check everything yourself before leaving the lot. I am on my third vehicle and was happy until I bought a used truck for almost 50K, plus buying the 3 year extended yourself before leaving the lot. I am on my third vehicle and was happy until I bought a used truck for almost 50K, plus buying the 3 year extended warranty. We noticed when we got in the truck to go home, that the tire warning light was on, that the tire pressure was too low. When we brought it back to be fixed, they said they did not reset the computer after rotating the tires. They also said that there was a crack in the rim. The clerk accused my husband of hitting a pothole and causing the crack and became very nasty, when he said we had not caused the crack, saying they have a 170 point inspection and couldn’t have missed it. (Although they admit missed resetting the light). I have a picture I took of the truck on the day we bought it - the crack shows in my original picture. After many phone calls, they say it must be fixed or could damage the tire, but also that it not a defect so the warranty won’t cover it... Then they said that they are willing to put on a new rim - after letting let us buy it at cost (for $569). In addition, I was upset enough that when I asked if it had a truck bed liner, I was told yes, and I could see it, but I didn't put down the tailgate, so I didn't discover that the tailgate was not sprayed. I had to bring it back and pay to have the tail gate sprayed. I am so disappointed in Ellis. My salesman was great, but the fact that Ellis won't cover a rim that was cracked when I bought the vehicle is just terrible. I will still be pursuing further action. More
