Febuary 9 i was on the highway and i felt a pulse senesation on the peddle and the steering wheel started shaking. I called them immediatley and they scheduled me a appiontment to come in. My appiontment was feb 13. They told me it was the tires and i would have to replace the tires out of my pockets. I just hit 30 days and they would not fix the problem. I would recommend nobody go to ewald. They supposed to reputable but my problem was not fixed. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE. Go somewhere with a warranty. They got what they wanted MONEY. More
Service Department Is a Joke Our experience with the service department has been nothing short of awful. We took our Wrangler in for an oil change and tire rotation before we left Our experience with the service department has been nothing short of awful. We took our Wrangler in for an oil change and tire rotation before we left for a road trip in July. On our trip we noticed a sound that we had never heard before. When we reached our destination we noticed our 2 front tries were wearing unevenly. We had multiple people look at it and tell us the same thing "A bad tire rotation". We took it back to the dealership and pretty much told us too bad. They couldn't even find a leak that we had told them exactly where it was. Their service rep basically called me and my husband liars and told me they weren't going to do anything. I called the service manager and I was told he would look into it and get back to me after Labor Day. 3 weeks later still hadn't gotten a call back. I called again and finally they got back to me and told me that I had to pay part for 2 of the tires that had been ruined due to their bad rotation and then they would replace them. I called again and amazing no answer so I left a message and I still have not gotten a call back. This service department is a joke and is not willing to help or admit fault. We will never be bringing our Jeep back here again. More

Expect to be RIPPED OFF if you are a Woman "I am still livid about my experience here and cannot shake the feeling of being shamelessly extorted, as if I walked in with a target on my forehead. "I am still livid about my experience here and cannot shake the feeling of being shamelessly extorted, as if I walked in with a target on my forehead. Although I suppose being a young unassuming female is basically the same thing here." - - - - - As a young woman who does not have much knowledge of cars, I was nervous to bring my Jeep Grand Cherokee in for its first major repair issue after my check engine light started flashing. I have heard all the stories of opportunistic auto technicians taking advantage of naïve and especially female car owners. Armed with this awareness, I brought my business to this company and trusted I would find honest workers who would put my best interests first. I left feeling absolutely RAKED OVER THE COALS by slimy technicians who promised me their best deal. A $2,000 engine replacement was the only fix, they said, but since they were looking out for me they had gone ahead and applied a coupon to save me some money. However, this fix could only happen after they took the engine apart for inspection, which combined with labor cost me $447. Four Hundred and Forty Seven dollars. Just to locate the issue. I was facing about $2500 in total to have my car repaired. This is over 1/3 the cost of the entire car I had bought gently used only a year earlier. At a loss and feeling the abuse in my wallet, I opted for a second opinion and took my car to a nearby small business auto shop called Piller's Auto Repair. The owner Steve immediately allayed my fears, and talked through the issues my car was facing. He even, of his own volition, suggested a MUCH less expensive fix that would solve my problem without having to do any major replacements. After about a week in Steve's care my car was ready to be picked up. Inspection, diagnostics, Engine filter arm fix, oil change, AND brand new battery for a grand total of $422.04. Catch that? ALL of the work - labor, new pieces, oil change and even a brand new goddamn battery for LESS than it cost me to have the vultures at Ewald simply look at my engine. I am still livid about my experience here and cannot shake the gross feeling of being shamelessly exploited, as if I walked in with a target on my forehead. Although I suppose being a young unassuming female is basically the same thing here. I have already warned my family members and female friends not to bring their business here but consider this a PSA to any other women considering Ewald for their car needs. The boy's club mentality is alive and well here and you will not be treated fairly. More
On 8/9/12, Ewald's in Franklin, WI found a leak in the differential when my Jeep was in for 90,000 mile service. They "fixed" it for me. On 8/11/12 while we were on vacation the pinion bearings in the d differential when my Jeep was in for 90,000 mile service. They "fixed" it for me. On 8/11/12 while we were on vacation the pinion bearings in the differential went out of the jeep. We had to have another dealer fix the problem on Monday. This dealer said the problem was with the work done by Ewald's. They had overtightened the yoke and screwed up the pinion bearings. Two days of lost vacation, hotel bills and meals because Ewald's didn't do their job right. When I returned from vacation, we called the service manager and asked if he could explain what happened. His explanation was that it wasn't anything they did. It was merely a coincidence that the bearings went out of the differential two days after they worked on it. His service people would never overtighten the yoke and cause any problems like this. What we learned from this experience is that this dealership does not stand behind it's repairs and apparently doesn't do the job correctly the first time around. Worst service department around. And since we had bought the lifetime warranty from Ewald's we've had every oil change, every service done at this dealership. We've suffered through 4 years of taking an hour to do an "express" oil change just because we thought we were getting quality, good service. Their loss as we were just getting ready to purchase a new Ram truck this fall and we will absolutely never go to this dealer again. More
Called service about ESP BAS, Traction and ABS lights on in vehicle. After sitting on hold for 10 minutes, I decided to drive to the dealership which took another 10 minutes. Still on hold, I arrived at th in vehicle. After sitting on hold for 10 minutes, I decided to drive to the dealership which took another 10 minutes. Still on hold, I arrived at the service department where an extremely rude, middle-aged man looked at me briefly and said, "One Minute." The younger man sitting next to him, with his arms crossed, doing nothing said, "Can I help you?" To which I replied, "Sure, since I've been on hold for 20 minutes." He turned to the older gentleman sitting next to him and asked, "Do you have someone on hold?" The older man replied, with a "pssss" noise and attempted to answer the line. I then informed him it is me on hold. He hung up the phone, never once looking in my direction or apologizing for his complete rude behavior. I then asked the younger man how much it would cost for someone to look at my car and told him that I'm sure it is a speed sensor. He said $98 for someone to look at it. I said the part is only $7 and I just want to make sure that's in fact the problem and I can fix it myself. He said $98. I left and will NEVER return. A side note, I am plannig to buy a brand new jeep in the next week or so, it just won't be from here!!!! More
Brought my 2004 Pacifica for a recall on the engine cradle. Had it replaced, then after 2000 miles, clunking on front end. Said didn't engine cradle replacement had nothing to do with clunking. Hello, cradle. Had it replaced, then after 2000 miles, clunking on front end. Said didn't engine cradle replacement had nothing to do with clunking. Hello, perfectly fine prior to replacement. Will never do business with this place again. More
Had a vehicle towed in for service because it wouldn't start. After looking at it, they quoted $850 to fix. After the work was done, they called and said that it didn't fix the problem so another $98 au start. After looking at it, they quoted $850 to fix. After the work was done, they called and said that it didn't fix the problem so another $98 authorization...they called back saying they couldn't find anything yet and another authorization would be needed for going further...could be several hundred more dollars. I said NO, I cannot spend that much more on a 1994 jeep. I was told they would finish up but I would still have the same problem with starting and winter was coming etc... then miraculously, within 10 minutes of telling them NO, no more money, they called to say "I think we got it fixed". He heard a woosh sound and now it seems to be fine-amazing how that happened. Not the end...after taking the vehicle home, we smelled gas (and so did our neighbor, who asked about it). I couldn't see anything and just let it go but every time I drove the jeep, the gas smell was overwhelming. After a few days, now there was a puddle under the jeep when stopped for more than 30 seconds. Ewald was called and they refused to look at the problem without charging again. This is totally irresponsible-they caused the problem and after ripping us off for $940 they won't even look at it under workman's warranty. DO NOT GO HERE...even my sister and brother-in-law bought their Jeep Grand Cherokee at Ewald and they will never go back due to terrible service and RIP OFF!!! They were EXTREMELY friendly, I must say...so much so, I almost gagged. More
I was quoted $250.00 for a brake job and the total came to $317.71. That's a big difference in today's economy. And I had a 9:00 A.M. appointment and my car wasn't taken into the shop until 10:00 A.M. I to $317.71. That's a big difference in today's economy. I would have thought you would have taken SOMETHING off the price for my excess wait time on a Saturday morning. I've purchased my last 3 vehicles from your company but I think next time I'll look elsewhere. More
