We went to Exeter Suabru this September pretty much ready to buy, we already liked the Subaru Xv Crosstrek. Kyle and the dealership just validated our decision. Kyle knew so much about the car and Subaru's in general it closed the deal for our new purchase. If you know what you want or don't want he's the one to go see. The purchase process is sometimes tedious, but at Exeter Subaru they have great coffee, snacks and good background music! I would definitely recommenced Exeter Suabru to anyone looking to buy and Love Love my new Crosstrek!! More

Our first visit was with Jane Button, she was very helpful, friendly and definitely made us feel at ease, which is not always the way when purchasing a new car. When we returned the next day we mentioned we were not sold on the price and that led us to working with Tim, Jane was not in the office that day. Since we had already decided on the car we wanted the only issue was the price. Tim was personable and easy to work with. We explained about not being satisfied with the price and he suggested we tell him the price we were looking for. With that information he talked to the sales manager and we were able to reach an agreeable price. Tim was most helpful in making sure we were pleased customers. However, we have had our new Forester for four weeks and still waiting for the title of our new car. More
Jane is very personable and welcoming, and spent the time to get to know me. This dealership has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, not intimidating in any way. Jane kept me updated on the status of my new car, and follow up after it arrived. An enjoyable experience overall. More
So, first of all, I'll state that: (1) I found it hard to figure out how to assign some ratings, as I purchased this vehicle only a few days before receiving a request to accomplish this review. (2) the ratings are only based on the sales/purchase experience. A review 6 months from now might be more meaningful. (3) I was reluctant to use "5" - would have felt more comfortable if there was "4.5" to use on some. Customer Service: "5" Because of Jane Button provided a comfortable, honest, experience , and because Jim (a manager) was willing to provide an a second key for me (wouldn't anyone require at least 2 keys?). Also, the day after the sale, I discovered a damaged plastic part on the lip of the cargo compartment that definitely needed to be replaced. I was angry with myself for not spotting it, and very disappointed they even would sell it that way. The next day I returned expecting to be told it was too late - buyer beware. However, I was pleasantly surprised that Josh, the manager on duty, quickly offered to replace it for me stating that they want to to have happy customers - and I was. Overall Experience: Consider it a "4.5" - probably better than at many other dealerships. Unless you are either: very knowledgeable, don't care, or are wealthy, purchasing a vehicle is a major expense and stressful for most people, myself included. They are in business to sell vehicles and make money, but they seem to be able to accomplish that in a very pleasant, relaxed, straightforward,and honest way. Whether I buy another Subaru, or whether I buy it from them, will ultimately be determined by how it goes from now on - but so far, so (very) good. More

Kyle ( salesman ) and Josh ( sales manager) worked with me over the course of two weeks of intensive test drives and price negotiations to find a great used car at a great price for my son. Kyle and I test drove ten different cars during that time and he always maintained a friendly disposition ( even when I encroached on his lunch break ). At one point it looked like I was not going to find the right car given budget concerns and my down payment was cheerfully refunded by Josh when my first and second choices did not pass my mechanics inspections. I tried another larger chain dealership that opened just up the street from Exeter Subaru and with a " no questions asked " $500 off a used car coupon from a mailer went in. The salesman I worked with was very professional and helped identify a car in my price range but the sales manager I dealt with was the kiss of death. He derided my pricing research tool ( Edmunds.com which I trust and have used extensively for many other car purchases ) refused to give me the time to have MY mechanic inspect the car ( I would be required to take the car and have it inspected that same day, which does give time enough to make arraignments to get it seen ) and would not hold the car with a down payment until I could get it seen. Last straw was his refusal to honor the $500 " NO QUESTIONS ASKED " coupon. Needless to say I walked away with no regrets except for the salesman who really did what he could to make the deal happen. Back I went to Exeter Subaru where Kyle was more than happy to take me on yet another test drive. Nice 2007 Hyundai Sonata V6 with 87k on the odometer and Josh came right out with a price that was more than fair based on my research. I was allowed to hold the car and let my mechanic ( Scott from Country Auto ) inspect and pronounce it " clean and in great condition". I have never spent this much time and effort to purchase a car but Kyle and Josh worked with me ( always in good humor and friendly ) to make me feel like a valued customer. This makes the fourth car I have purchased from Exeter Subaru and would recommend them to friends and family! More
