This is the type of place that proves some used car dealers deserve the reputation they have. There are a ton of things that were unpleasant about the experience so I will just hit some of the high poi dealers deserve the reputation they have. There are a ton of things that were unpleasant about the experience so I will just hit some of the high points. 1) Took a 500 dollar non-refundable deposit and then called 4 days later to say that if I didn't buy the car that day they would sell it to a local customer who was interested. No such deadline was discussed when they took the deposit, as I was attempting to have them get the car inspected, and have non-dangerous tires put on the car. 2) Agreed to have the car inspected by a local Jaguar dealer, then decided they wouldn't and claimed that it previously was inspected by a Jag dealer but they would not provide any documentation of that, nor the inspection they claimed they performed. 3) Said that they would install new tires at my cost (and at my request), then decided that they wouldn't. They sold the car on mismatched tires (of different classes) that were not speed rated to the vehicle. (Shouldn't the inspection they definitely performed have caught that?) 4) When there was confusion over the location of the wheel locks, the salesman basically said I was SOL and they only provide what they received with the car. Meaning they would have been happy to sell me a car with no means of removing the wheels and let me discover that fact for myself. Would have been fun if I got a flat. 5) Promised to get me the 2nd set of keys for the car, that I discovered were missing when I flew up to pick up the car (shouldn't the checklist for the inspection they definitely performed have caught this?) Since the salesman ghosted me I just purchased a replacement key fob for 380, and will need to spend ~150 to have it programmed once it arrives. The Google review I left for this dealership provides screenshots of some of the conversations. Edit: 6) It seems they pocketed the refund check for the 3rd party warranty. They convinced me to purchase a 3rd party warranty for the vehicle for $3,800. When I called Jaguar to see how many months of the original warranty was remaining found out I had 2+ years of factory warranty, making the 3rd party warranty unnecessary. I called to cancel, and this dealership tried to convince me that Jaguar was wrong and there was no remaining warranty. (kickback much?) After I cancelled the warranty I was told they would mail me the check. I call later and they say they are mailing the check to me that day. I call after a week and they claim they don't process the refunds but that it would be sent to the lien holder after the 10th of the month. It has been more than a month now and I don't have the money, and the finance company doesn't have the money. More
