Working with Firkins has been a roller coaster ride for sure. I bought my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk in 2021 at Jerry Ulm in Tampa, and also purchased the platinum warranty plan and I am really happy I did. The vehicle I wanted wasn’t available anywhere else so drive up from Bradenton to purchase it. Everything was fine until 2024 when I noticed the touch screen delaminating. Didn’t want to drive to Tampa for service so contacted Firkins. They had to order the screen, popped in, they swapped it, warranty covered it, paid the $100 co-pay and zipped out. Then in early January 2026, I got an error message “Service Air Suspension Immediately”, which sounded serious and when I looked it up, it was. I contacted Firkins and got an appointment. Took my Jeep in and then got a message from the service rep that there was a leak in the water pump, a head gasket leak, and issues with the air suspension. After digging into it, they said the water pump, gaskets and seals were covered by my warranty, but the suspension block and compressor were not, they would cost over $3,000. Yikes. But it had to be done so I gave approval. It took almost a week and during that time I dug into my warranty which I found stated it covered air suspension parts including the pump. The only pump on air suspension is the compressor pump. I contacted Firkins and after they checked again, yup, it was covered, only $100 deductible. Work was done and off I went, again. In the next couple days I saw a leak of something under the radiator area, looked like transmission fluid and also keep getting the message “Stop/Start Service Not Available”. Contacted Firkins, and off I went again. Then I was told I needed to have my radiator replaced and my hood switch, and those are not covered under my warranty, that would cost around $2,300. Yikes again. So once again, I dug into my warranty and… you guessed it, yes it was covered. Once again, $100 deductible. After that work was done, I went to pick up my Jeep but was told the hood switch was on “indefinite backorder”, probably will take 6 months to get. I figured when that came in, I’d get it replaced. As soon as I started driving, a loud CHIME went off and my dash report the hood was open. A few seconds later, again. And again. And again. Did it EIGHT times before I got to the edge of the parking lot. There is NO WAY I could drive like that and keep my sanity. Especially not for 6 months. So I turned around, had to push the point a LOT, and they finally disabled the switch. That stopped the chimes, but I still got one warning when I started it. So I went home, shopped around and found original Mopar switches and latches online for around $25. I contacted Firkins and asked if I bought a switch would they install it and luckily they said yes. So I overnighted the switch, stopped at Firkins and they did the work quick and I headed out the door. For now, everything works correctly. Not sure how to “rate” Firkins, it all got done in the end, but they tried to charge me $5,300 for things covered under my warranty and my radiator did not leak until after I had service done at Firkins. Looks like a good place to purchase from, great selection, but be careful with your service work. More
I recently worked with Firkins Mitsubishi while shopping for a new vehicle and unfortunately, my experience did not reflect the level of transparency I expect in a dealership. While the staff was initial for a new vehicle and unfortunately, my experience did not reflect the level of transparency I expect in a dealership. While the staff was initially responsive, there were notable discrepancies between what was discussed and what appeared in the lease paperwork. Several fees were either not disclosed upfront or padded without explanation, and the lease structure changed without a clear breakdown. I’ve purchased and leased many vehicles over the years—including through dealer auctions—so I’m not new to the process. I value straightforward communication and clean numbers, which I did not receive here. Ultimately, I decided to purchase in Massachusetts with a dealership that provided clear, upfront pricing and a transparent breakdown of all terms and incentives. It’s unfortunate because I was ready to move forward, but the inconsistencies and lack of clarity made it difficult to trust the deal. If you’re considering Firkins Mitsubishi, I recommend reviewing all paperwork carefully and asking for a full itemized lease breakdown in writing before signing anything. More

2012 Mazda 5 touring OK Angie was amazing and went out of her way to make everything smooth with this purchase.. everything went almost perfect with the 2012 Mazda 5 Touri OK Angie was amazing and went out of her way to make everything smooth with this purchase.. everything went almost perfect with the 2012 Mazda 5 Touring.. 1 owner carfax and they came down alot on the price for me considering I was coming from far away.. But 10k is 10k and it's not a brand new vehicle.. The one big problem was the next day the check engine light came on (fuel tank pressure sensor) - well after I brought it in to my dealer, it's VERY likely this condition existed for a long time and they had to know about it.. of course it's not covered under the warranty that I bought so I'm out $420 to fix it.. I tried to talk to the owner but they refused to do anything - basically they reset the computer and it takes a day for the check engine light to come on, so that's why I didn't see it when I test drove it.. So just beware when your buying from them. More
I moved to Florida almost 4 years ago & needed service done on my car & Firkins was so helpful in taking care of my car. When time to trade I was taken care of as well in the used car area. Met Ji service done on my car & Firkins was so helpful in taking care of my car. When time to trade I was taken care of as well in the used car area. Met Jim Carroll & George Womack & they both were as helpful as the service dept. & new care area. They put me in a sharp car & was very pleased with the car until my Mom of 87 yrs. couldn't get in & out of it. So knowing I hadn't had the car very long I didn't think they could do anything for me in tradeing to something that she could. I was so wrong they worked with me until something worked out & I even did better than I ever dreamed with a new vehicle. So pleased with all they did,I will always send anyone interested in a new or used vehicle to Firkins in Bradenton,Fl.for all their caring help in making a right decision on a vehicle for me. Thanks again Jim Carroll & George Womack for making me & my Mom very happy once again. Diana Wenzel More
I went to this dealership after leaving another feeling very down and hopeless. My van needed repairs that were going to cost more than the vehicle was worth. My credit was not the best and I knew it wou very down and hopeless. My van needed repairs that were going to cost more than the vehicle was worth. My credit was not the best and I knew it would be a challange to get into a car. As soon as I walked into Mitsubishi, I was greeted by Rose. She was very kind and sincere and treated me with the upmost respect. We reviewed my options and with the help of Brian and Jim, they were able to get me into a car. Not just any car, a brand new 2012 Lancer. This is the first new vehicle I have ever owned. I was so grateful to the staff there. They went above and beyond to get me into a car. It turned out that I was Rose's first sale. I figured this was divine intervention. I would recommend this dealership to any of my friends. My daughter and I brought them an Edible Arrangement as a Thank You gift. Rose keeps in touch through e-mails and phone calls to ensure that I am satisfied with my purchase. I have not had to bring it in for service yet, so I can not comment on that at this time. I met some great people that day and will never forget the day I bought my first new car. More
test drove car. asked for best price. Sales mrg said' I won't give that to you until the day you buy the car.' I said 'What?' He said "Do you play poker?" I said "What?" He said 'I ha won't give that to you until the day you buy the car.' I said 'What?' He said "Do you play poker?" I said "What?" He said 'I have salemen to take care of'. Wow. So if you like to play poker, and have shopped other dealerships and know exactly what you want to pay for a specific model, this could be the dealership for you. As for me, I wanted to get a good honest reasonable offer to work with. Because i was looking to purchase a car, not play games. If you like the barter back and forth game, you might like this place. As for me, I passed I personally contacted the saless manager the next day by email and said the same thing I wrote above. I later found out the sales manager had only one month experience, and since then has recieved training and support from the manangemnt team. He did apologize for his words and behavior. I can only hope this will make things better for others in the future, as his apology was sincere. More
