We have contacted the customer and she has made an appointment with the service department for this weekend to get the situation rectified.

I gave my initial review back on 10/07/2013 shortly after purchasing a 2006 Chevy Equinox from Tynan's Nissan. See my original review below for details. I did follow up with a BBB claim and still Tynan's refused to make the repair to the vehicle that was stated to have been repaired prior to selling it to me. They noted many issues on their "Used Car Multi-Point Inspection" dated 7/19/13 they provided me with and then also provided me with documentation of repairs. Apparently NONE of these documented repairs were actually made, as all the problems still existed when I drove the car home after purchasing it. They did repair a couple of those things (previously noted to have been repaired, but not repaired) to include some wiring issues and the front sway bar. However, they have refused over and over to take care of the brake problems, again, which were noted on their own 7/19/13 inspection and they provided me with documentation of having replaced the ABS sensor, having resurfaced the brakes, and having replaced a left front wheel bearing. However, the lights have continued to come on, and the problem has escalated to the vehicle no longer even being safe to drive, as the brakes are continually trying to engage while I am driving down the road! They make grinding sounds and pulsate intermittently when actually braking. Tynan's has made it clear to me that they sold the vehicle "as is"; however, after doing my research, I have found that they themselves provided me with documentation of their findings and their "supposed" repairs prior to putting the vehicle up for sale, yet all of these repairs were never made. That is a gross misrepresentation of the vehicle, and since they have not taken care of it, even after my filing a claim with the BBB, I will be taking the vehicle in to have it repaired myself since it is UNSAFE to drive, and I will be retaining an attorney to file a law suit against them for deceptive practices. I am very unhappy with the way this has been handled, and I tried very hard to resolve all issues on my own, but this has escalated into a very serious problem, and they have left me with no options but to proceed with legal action. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. Pamela Flutie

I took the Equinox to Brakes Plus this morning - paid for a vehicle system diagnostic check, which showed the following code: C0035 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Fault OHM reading was 1762 on the low end, which 1700 should be the maximum on the high end - obviously a problem. Their recommendation: Replace Left Hub and Bearing and retest. Interestingly, this is just another one of the things that show on the Tynan Multi-point inspection report as being a problem that YOUR service department found and that they replaced exactly that on 7/9/13. Therefore, either faulty/defective parts were used (which should still be under warranty) or the repair was never done just like the sway bar was not replaced as indicated on that same report. If I do not hear from anyone within 48 hours, I will be contacting an attorney to file a law suit for deceptive practices and repair of the items that were documented to have been repaired but never were, and I will be contacting both Ed and Sean Tynan, as I do not feel that they would stand behind these practices in their dealerships.

We got the used car from Aurora that the customer had requested. She took it to her mechanic who said at the time there was a small leak. We had our shop look at the leak and they stated that it was not a concern. The customer was working a car deal based on total money out of pocket and asked Derek about a $300 discount that our other store's website had populated. At this point taxes were adjusted and the total price dropped by $400. Assuming this was fair we printed a Buyers Order so she could take it to her credit union. The next day the customer contacted the general sales manager and voiced her concern on the $300 coupon not being honored, and how the taxes were changed. Without hesitation he told her that we would disocunt the car another $300, printed and faxed a new buyers order. Later that day the customer called back and said that she no longer wanted to buy the vehicle because of the engine leak that her mechanic found that our service department said was okay. At which point we told her no problem. She came in and picked up her check and the car deal became null and void.

- Yes, Tynan's brought the car up from Aurora; I already said that in my original email - and that I appreciated it. - My mechanic never called it a "small" leak. He said he could not say where it was coming from or how bad it was without spending a lot more time taking the car apart, but he estimated the repair at anywhere from $500 to $1500. I am sorry, but I am a lot more apt to trust a mechanic I have been dealing with for 25 years over one who works for the dealership who wants me to buy their vehicle. When asked if he would agree that the leak was minor (the contingency), he said he could not do that because he did not think it was. - Yes, I was working within a budget - that should be understandable.. I had an approved loan for the amount of the buyer's order. However, in my mind our budget is a moot point in this case I was told outright that I would be given the $300 discount; adjusting the taxes to what they should have been in the first place is not giving me any kind of discount, it is doing what should have been done on the original buyer's order. That is not "fair," it is dishonest in my book, especially when it was not disclosed that the only discount was correcting the dealership's error in figuring the taxes. - I would hope that it would not be a problem to back out of the deal since I had a written contingency that was not met. I am only sorry I did not catch the tax change/"discount" up front; I would have ended the deal then.

We apologize for any inconvenience that we may have caused. We did let you out of the deal and didn't charge you anything. We've gone over internal policies due to your complaint to prevent future issues such as this. We are sorry that you had any problems dealing with Tynans.
