I called about a used car advertised with Fowler Toyota
and Fowler Honda, but was routed to Fowler I-240 Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Oklahoma City. According to Kelly Blue Book, Fowler's advertised retail price
and Fowler Honda, but was routed to Fowler I-240 Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Oklahoma City. According to Kelly Blue Book, Fowler's advertised retail price was $8,000 OVER Kelly Blue Book's retail price (if in mint condition). They tack on a nonnegotiable "doc" fee (though this would have been a cash transaction) and a fee for lifetime air in the tires (please!). They had a carfax attached to the ad, but exercising caution, tried to check the VIN# on CarFax website, and CarFax did not recognize the advertised VIN#. Sales person said it was probably a typographical error. The sales person was pleasant and attempted to be helpful, but it was clear from the bogus add-on fees and grossly inflated retail pricing that this used car dealership appears to be sleezy. Have read poor reviews about Fowler dealerships, and they are on target with my experience.
It's more trouble, but important to be educated about the dealership and car you are contemplating purchasing.
